The Chic, Stylish Skirt You’ll Never Want to Take Off

The tendency with a midi or maxi skirt is to go big or ‘dressy’…right? BUT, what looks equally chic and provides more comfort and versatility is mixing your chic skirt with something more casual. I’ve found a gorgeous printed pleated skirt you’re going to love! Plus, I’m sharing tips on how to style pleated skirts below…

Pleated Skirt Outfit

It’s like ever since we moved to Spain, I’ve become a huge print lover…Who am I?! But seriously, this pleated skirt is so pretty. I love that the black and white print is neutral so it’s easy to style. And the geometric print isn’t too loud and over-the-top. It’s super chic, comfy, and versatile…and it’s only $80!

I styled it with a basic black bodysuit to keep it simple, but you could wear a different bodysuit, tee, or blouse. I threw on a classic black moto jacket as my third layer to add a little edge to the look since pleated skirts are generally more feminine. For my accessories, I’m wearing my favorite new black booties by Schutz and a YSL chevron bag. The booties are comfy, sleek, and super versatile. Tips For Wearing Pleated Skirts

• Keep It Simple on Top – A more fitted tee, blouse, or bodysuit will help offset the volume of the skirt on the bottom.
• Define Your Waist – If you do go with a more flowy top, make sure to either tuck it in, add a cropped jacket, or both. These will help create the illusion of a slimmer waist.
• Consider Length – If you’re shorter, finding midi skirts can be more difficult. But it’s okay if the midi skirt doesn’t hit your leg at the exact same place as it does on the model…just make sure it hits your leg at a flattering place (usually the slimmest part of your leg, near the ankle).
• Shoes Matter – Go with a shoe that’s either the same color as the skirt, or skin color so that it elongates your legs. Also, try to skip straps or any shoes that chop off your legs. I explain this tip more in this video.
