Transition Dressing | How to Dress Between Seasons
A bunch of you have emailed or commented asking about ‘transition dressing.’
While that may sound like some new sexual orientation term, I’m talking about how to dress between seasons.
You know, how to dress when it’s still hot like summer, but close to fall.
The name of the game is layering.
You have to layer.
That way when there is a chill in the air, you are warm enough.
But if it heats up during the day, you can always lose a layer.
You also want to look more ‘fall’ so the extra layer will help achieve that.
in the case of the looks above….
I took the same base layering pieces, a summery lace top and cropped jeans.
And, simply swapped out the jacket.
In the first look, I’m wearing a long black vest.
In the second example, a suede moto jacket.
Both of these pieces, instantly make my lace top and jeans, look much more FALL appropriate.
This top is one of my favorites by the line, Style Mafia.

The shoes are also key when dressing between seasons.
Notice I’m wearing peep-toe booties.
I know many of you have asked about these specifically…
Namely, when the heck can you wear them.
THIS is the time!!
You stay cool enough, but again, look ready for fall!
