A new pair of jeans can easily breathe new life into your wardrobe, and there is no shortage of edgy and modern jeans.
You will see everything from old school, button-fly, mom jeans, to frayed hemlines, to distressed everything.
Below are some of the most popular denim trends… that I think work for all ages and body types.
Keep scrolling to see my trendy picks!

Denim Trends #1 | Cuffed Jeans

The Art of Cuffing
You can decide if you want to do one long cuff (see picture below for reference), a double cuff or one short cuff.
These skinny jeans look equally chic down.

Bear Proof Garbage
BTW, see the iron doors with bears (in background above)?
This is where we keep our garbage locked up …because of bears!
These Rag & Bone skinnies DO run short…so if you are tall, expect them to be more of a ‘cropped’ length (mid calf).
I bought these jeans in two sizes: 25 & 26. They also run large, so you should definitely size down.
I’m keeping both sizes because the roomier ones are ridiculously comfortable!
STYLE TIP: If you find a pair of jeans you love, do order 2 pairs!
One size up for supreme comfort and one size down for skinny days.

Denim Trends #2 | Distressed Jeans
The second denim trend is… distressed jeans.
Not everyone likes distressing all over the legs. It gets tougher to pull off as we get older too.
I love that this pair of Good American skinny jeans has slight distressing.
The placement on these jeans is also great! A little on the thighs, and some at the ankle.
Often when skinny jeans are distressed at the knees, the skin pops out in an unflattering way.
STYLE TIP: Be strategic about distressing placement. Distressed knees are not always the most flattering.

This line of denim is fairly new and caters to curvier girls. This particular pair of jeans (they are all different)…
Is VERY stretchy and VERY comfortable. You will want to live in them!
They do run LARGE, so be sure to size DOWN. I’m wearing a size 0 here.

Denim Trends #3 | Undone Hem Jeans
The third denim trend I want to tackle…is the undone or ‘raw’ hemline.
These Treasure & Bond, high-rise, skinny jeans are SUPER flattering!
And, the best thing about this Nordstrom in-house brand, Treasure & Bond, is the pricing.
Most of the line is under $100!
These jeans do have a little distressing at the knee, but it is VERY subtle and minimal. No skin will peep out here.

The length on these skinny jeans is PERFECT for me, because they are cropped.
I often search for cropped jeans instead of regular length because I know they’ll be perfect for my petite frame.
STYLE TIP: IF you DO need to hem these (or any jeans with interesting hemline), make sure you ask the tailor to give you the original bottoms.

Denim Trends #4 | Split Hem Jeans
The last denim trend I wanted to highlight is… the split hem jeans.
These Frame, high-rise, cropped, split-hem jeans actually incorporate a few denim trends in one.
They are incredibly modern and edgy. and will definitely step up your denim game this year!
The split hem… frames your ankles… and your shoes.
When you wear these jeans, I would definitely plan on showing off some fab shoes, like these gorgeous studded sandals!
STYLE TIP: When wearing cropped jeans, make sure you take advantage of the hemline by wearing show-stopping shoes!

These jeans run VERY large. I sized down TWO whole sizes (wearing 24 and I never wear 24).
Remember I’m also petite at 5’4″ so if you are taller, they will be more cropped.

Often what I do with jeans is order TWO sizes, and then send one size back.
