Styling Combat Boots
During the Doc Martin combat boot days (90’s), I skipped the trend.
I was in college, and I didn’t understand that you can mix tough with feminine pieces.
It’s kind of like mixing antiques with mid-century modern furniture; tricky… but it can be done.
Once the mix is mastered, it adds edge to any look, and opens up a whole new wardrobe world.
#1 | Combat Boots with Sporty Pieces
In the first look above, I paired by combat boots with a pair of Mother jeans, a very fitted LNA hooded sweatshirt and sporty shades.
I feel like this look would be perfect for running errands, hanging out on the weekends or weekday evenings.
It also feels quite Coloradian to me (except maybe the four inch heel part).
STYLE TIP: Remember you can always tuck in your sweatshirt or sweater…especially if it’s lightweight.
These jeans, by the way, are what I would consider “mom jeans.”
If you have been interested in trying the denim trend, but are not sure what pair to try, I would highly recommend these, “dazzler” jeans.
The interesting distressing in the back and front, plus the step waist band make them very unique.
The step waist also makes your waist look smaller when you tuck in your top.
I also linked more options below (for less).

#2 | Pair with Silk Top
STYLE TIP: If you want to highlight the boots even more, don’t be afraid to cuff your jeans.

More Combat Boots
The pair of combat boots I’m wearing (above) by Schutz have four inch heels.
I know most of you won’t want to walk in those, so I thought I would give you more options below…some flats, some heels. One pair is even waterproof!
