Why It’s Essential to… Just Say NO.

You CAN Do It!

Inspiration to Help you… Just Say No.

Just saying, “No.” is REALLY freakin hard to do… and yet if you learn how to do it, you WILL be happier.
That’s BIG incentive!

You simply have to… for your own inner calm and well-being. You may even know this intellectually, but when it comes right down to it… It’s still tough.
You want to please everyone. You want everyone to like you… (insert a medley of internal dialogs and stories here.)

Here’s what I know to be true…
When I started saying no, not only did I feel happier, I had a LOT more time…freeing me up to be a better mom and wife.
If you look at your own priority list, isn’t being a great mom and wife UP there? Like #1 and #2??
I know they are for me. Soooo….when I’m a better mom and wife, I’m even happier. It’s a beautiful cycle.

Saying, “No” Will Not Win Popularity Contests

I had an actual phone conversation with a woman who told me that ‘my no‘ meant I did not support my local community.
She went on to tell me that I didn’t care about her or others, among other not-so-lovely things.
It was a TOUGH phone call!
But, you know what…? I know, in my heart of hearts, that I did the right thing for ME and MY FAMILY.
That has to be your priority. Period. End of story.

Fast forward three years and that same woman, who was trying to “do it all“…and clearly had not learned to say, “No…”  is sharing on social media how she is now saying, “No” and here’s why. Oh… the temptation to call her up and say…”I told you so”. But, reading that… was enough.

There will be moments like I had above… where you feel guilty.
You WILL feel badly about saying, “No.” And, it will be even worse with certain people.
But, at the end of the day, you have to say, “No.”

Your happiness and well-being are worth it.  Don’t you think?
