January Favorites

In the VIDEO above, I walk you through my January favorites! This month, I feature awesome, flared pants, cozy loungewear… And, my favorite plaid coat.

Epic Try On | Blank NYC Vlevet & Faux Shearling Jacket

1) Blank NYC Faux Shearling Coat

One of the pieces I feature is the Blank NYC faux shearling and velvet jacket. It’s the one that I’m wearing in the video above.
If you follow the blog you know how much I love Blank NYC…and this jacket is no exception.
I think it’s so cool and such a beautiful slate blue color. I also like that it’s oversized and will layer well.

2) Good American Jeans

I love the way that Good American jeans feel. They’re very stretchy, soft and comfortable.
I ordered this pair because I really like the seam down the middle and the split hem in the front. It’s a edgy detail that frames a nice pump or bootie.
They are high-rise and dark wash,,, so they’re very slimming and SO comfortable!

3) White Slash Pants

These white pants by Lovers + Friends are the perfect combination of elegance and sexiness! The best part is the sexy open seam legs. They show off a great shoe and really make a statement!
Note: These run very long so I had to get them tailored.

January Favorites | Fashion Youtuber over 40, Erin Busbee of Busbee Style | Featuring Lauren Wood clothing

4) Lauren Wood Clothing

I’m so excited to share this next favorite with you. There’s a entrepreneur here in Telluride named Lauren Wood.
She’s a designer who creates knit hats, knit neck warmers, gloves and mittens, sweatshirts, and base layers that are made out of wool and cotton.

Base Layers

I love the base layers!
Her base layer tee’s are made with wool (for warmth), but not at all itchy!
The fabric also has dry wicking technology so it’s perfect for skiing, hiking, running…any outdoor activity.
The beauty of the long-sleeve tee is that it’s also a great basic. You can easily wear it under a sweater or cardigan on a chilly day.
She also makes a great sleeveless tee option!

Lauren also makes really chic sweatshirts (pictured above). This one has a zipper on the neck, so you can wear it up like a turtleneck or fold it down.

Telluride Glow Alpine Oil | All Natural Pure Facial Oil, used for intense face hydation, flyaway hair, cuticles, hands, cleansing face, and more, featured by Lifestyle & Beauty Blogger over 40, Erin Busbee of Busbee Style in Telluride Colorado

5) Telluride Glow

I also want to talk about another special entrepreneur here in Telluride…

Mary Alice Heape developed Telluride Glow Alpine Oil ) ($56). This oil is amazing! You can mix it with other moisturizers or apply it alone.
It is multi-purpose. You can also use it on your hands, flyaway hairs, shave with it, and use it to cleanse your face. All of the ingredients are pure and natural.
I mostly use it on my face and hands. It’s nice to just dab on your face whenever your skin is looking dull or dry…to give it a glow!

6) Fuzzy Sweater

I got the fuzzy snuggly cardigan in the video from Nordstrom…
Sadly it’s sold out… so I linked to more options including an oatmeal cardigan, a longline fuzzy cardigan, and a fuzzy cardigan from Target!

January Favorites video featuring the Cult Gaia bag, a dupe for a LOT less from Amazon, large natural bamboo bag, by fashion blogger over 40, Erin Busbee of BusbeeStyle.com based in Telluride, Colorado

7) Cult Gaia Dupe

This is a dupe for the Cult Gaia bag.
It’s a really good dupe and it comes in a bunch of sizes!

  1. A lighter (it’s also lightly scened and smells smells heavenly) alternative to the Telluride Glow, along the same lines is Seaberry Oil by Fresh. I buy mine online through Nordstrom, although they don’t carry it in a lot of their stores. Sephora had some of the line in one shop I was in. I discovered it because I also had to layer with another moisturizer when I’m spending time in the arid Colorado climate—although I’m at a lower altitude. I’m also mad about Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream by Fresh. It smells like roses, oh yum, it’s light to the touch, spreads silkily, and a tiny bit goes a long way. I have also tried some of the other Fresh produts and am becoming a total fan! Fresh is a company out of Boston. Nordstrom had on offer some very nicely sized sample Fresg products when I placed my initial order. Large enough to last for decent length trials.

  2. Oops, a typo:
    “I love the base layers!
Her base layer tee’s are made with wool (for warmth), but at all itchy!“

I think you left out the “not”, should be “not at all itchy”! An important difference.

Thanks for all you do!! Keep up the great work!

  3. Re the new product collaboration, I vote for a long sleeve T. It’s hard for me to find a long sleeve that doesn’t cling in the tummy and isn’t too sheer to wear by itself. I’d love a long sleeve T that could be layered, worn under an open cardigan, or alone. For lounge pants, I usually go comfy but lower end since I just wear them around the house and often do cleaning/chores in them…so I’d vote for the L/S tee concept!
