Why You Need Face Primer

Face Primer is Your New Secret Weapon

I’m ALL about simplicity. The last thing I want or need to do is add an extra step to my beauty routine. But, face primer is worth it!

What Is It?

Face primer is a base for your foundation, allowing it to go on smoother and last longer.

Why You Need It

There are MANY reasons why face primer is a new must have in your makeup bag!

Let’s start with wrinkles.

In the photo above, I applied the StriVectin Line BlurFector Wrinkle Blurring Primer on the left. On the right, some moisturizer.
You can clearly see a difference in the lines under my eyes.

My wrinkles look much more shallow, and less noticeable on the left. It’s pretty amazing how the primer fills in my lines!

(By the way, not all primers do this. I’ll talk more about this specific primer below.)

Fills Lines

Here is another shot (above) where you can see a subtle difference.
With the StriVectin Line BlurFector Face Primer on the left, my face looks more even, less red, brighter and smoother.

What It Does…

In addition to filling in wrinkles, face primer will also give your foundation a smoother finish.
Your makeup will stay on longer, and your skin will be more even, and less shiny.

How to Use It

The StriVectin Line BlurFector is AMAZING! It has a velvety texture that just glides on. It is also very lightweight.

You should apply it after moisturizer with your fingers or a beauty sponge.

Wear It Alone

I LOVE that you can wear the primer alone for a natural, no makeup look (above)…

Under Your Makeup

You can also wear it under your makeup! When I applied foundation, after the primer, my face looked airbrushed. For real! Just look at the picture above.
My foundation is barely perceptible.  I really prefer natural makeup, and this finish is a game changer!

The other awesome benefit… the primer helps prevent makeup from settling into your lines.

Use it On Your Lips!

You can also use the primer on your lips… to fill in lines, and help keep lipstick on longer.

The Neck & Chest

And, don’t forget about the neck and chest. You can use the primer to fill in lines or mattify both of these areas.

Why Prime?

Bottom line: Face primer is well worth the extra effort, especially as you get older.
It fills in lines and wrinkles, mattifies, creates the perfect base for your foundation, looks wonderful alone or under your makeup, and helps keep your makeup on longer.
It’s a makeup bag must have!

  1. Do you put sunscreen on over your moisturizer and under primer, or over primer and under foundation?

  2. Thanks Erin for the wonderful before and after photos using the Stivictin primer.
Interested in trying the StriVectin primer, does it contain fragrance?

On other topic .. your hair is gorgeous in the second to last photo could you please do a “how to”

    Thanks oxox

    1. It has a slight smell, but nothing heavy or weird. I’m VERY sensitive to smells and prefer unscented everything and I’m fine with it. Barely noticeable. Erin xo
