What I Wore on a Yoga Retreat to Tulum
In this video below, I’m sharing what pieces I brought to Tulum, Mexico on my recent yoga retreat! I really liked Tulum and thought the town looked very authentic complete with thatched roof restaurants and shops.
I went on this retreat, in large part, to connect with other women in Telluride. It definitely felt out of my comfort zone because I had 1) never done yoga before, and 2) I knew very few women going anyone going on the trip. But, I can say with complete confidence that is was incredibly worthwhile! It would have taken me years to make these connections. If you’re thinking about going on a trip like this, just go!
I had to bring a lot of workout clothes because we did quite a bit of working out, both boot camp and yoga. For boot camp, I brought running shorts with built-in underwear. For yoga, I brought capri leggings and tank tops. I also had a pair of short tights. They are by Alo Yoga and they were really handy when we went straight from boot camp to yoga. And they’re cute!
I took three cover-ups on this trip. First, was this pretty white cover up with pom-pom detailing by Micheal stars. I liked that you put it on like a jacket and then tied it at the waist. I’m starting to prefer these kinds of cover-ups rather than pullovers. Next, I brought this black lace detail cover-up by Topshop. The last cover-up was this long black maxi dress that I mentioned in a blog here. It was perfect for going from the beach to lunch, comfortable, and chic.
The first swimsuit I brought was this Vix bikini (top and bottoms). I love this line, but size up because they run small. Next, I brought a Vitamin A bikini (top and bottoms) that was super cute. Next, this striped one piece. I love how sporty and modern it is! It has great coverage and the belt detail creates a waistline. I bought this new floral suit by Ted Baker that I love! It’s girly, fun, and feminine! The ruffles help balance your body if you have bigger hips, butt, and thigh. I accidentally bought a size 2 and it was too big, so make sure you look at the sizing guide!
Right before I left I bought this GORGEOUS skirt by Alexis. I love the vibrant colors, high-low hemline, and the pleats. It’s a dramatic statement piece. I wore it during a salsa-dancing lesson we had one night. I paired it with a pretty white lace cami. You can wear pasties or a plunge bra with this top.
I also brought these super cool red pants. They are a wrap pant and the legs open up as you walk. They’re lightweight and have a pretty print. I paired these pants with a breezy, super soft white button down by Bella Dahl.
The next piece I packed was a polka dot wrap dress by Tularosa. Something to think about…it is a plunging neckline so I wore a cami underneath. You can do this when you want to be a bit more conservative or don’t want to worry about anything popping out! It runs very long. I was wearing my favorite wedges and it was still dusting the floor.
The first romper is this sweet white romper with cutout detailing along the sleeves and hemline. It’s simple, chic, flattering (do not wash it!). I also enjoyed this simple black cotton romper. It was nice for that lunch to beach transition and just hanging out.
I just wanted to mention this polka dot pajama set that I mentioned in one of my lookbook videos. Since there wasn’t a lot of air conditioning here it was nice to have these cool pajamas.
