4 Reasons Why You Should Carry a Backpack…

It’s no secret that I love backpacks? I mean, how many times have I talked about them?? Here and here for starters. I think Henri Bendel makes the BEST backpacks. Henri Bendel backpacks are almost always stylish AND multi-functional. For example, my all-time favorite the Jetsetter is a 3-in-1 bag, which I’ll tell you more about below. Bottom line, I always appreciate getting more bang for my buck. The two I recently received below are SO gorgeous for the fall season!

Why You SHOULD Carry a Backpack

Once I started carrying a backpack more than 4 years ago, there was no turning back. It’s a game-changer!

#1 | Mom-Friendly

If you are a mom with young kids, the backpack enables you to hold your kids’ hands or pick up stuff when they inevitably throw it on the ground, without having to worry about your handbag pummeling you in the face. (You know it happens!)

#2 | Save Your Back!

If your kids are older, the backpack still has an awesome purpose, it will save your back and shoulders! The weight is evenly distributed so you don’t get that sore shoulder or neck from carrying a bag that’s WAY too heavy.

#3 | Perfect for Travel or Shopping

Another bonus of carrying the backpack, you can shop or travel hands-free! This is SO awesome, I am not sure I have the words to accurately depict how life-changing this is. All I can tell you is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I travel, I carry one of my Henri Bendel backpacks.

#4 | Today’s Backpacks are Chic!

These backpacks are not like the ol’ Jansports. They are incredibly sophisticated and stylish! Suitable for even the chicest grown-ups.

#1 | Lenox 2-in-1 Convertible Bag

HOW gorgeous is this green backpack?? I am in LOVE with the color! I think it’s such a wow, standout shade of green that you will carry a bunch this fall/winter. It’s also convertible, so you can adjust the straps to make it a crossbody bag as well. The bag has zippers on the side so you can expand or contract the size.

I paired this bold emerald backpack with a suede, duster, trench coat. This is such a gorgeous and unexpected color combination! The gold, glittery Henri Bendel hat, and scarf are the perfect way to add some warmth without compromising style.

#2 | The Jetsetter

Perfect for travel or heading to work with your big laptop, the Jetsetter remains my all-time favorite Henri Bendel bag! It’s a 3-in-1 handbag: 1) Satchel 2) Crossbody and 3) Backpack

I paired the burgundy backpack with a matching faux suede coat, cropped jeans, some sock booties and some super cool, fingerless gloves!

I also love the skinny bag scarf that says, “Love is all you need.” It’s the perfect bag accessory!

Henri Bendel Closing

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you after 123 years in business, Henri Bendel will close all of its stores and the website after the holiday season. I will continue working with them until they shut down. Once a Bendel Girl, always a Bendel Girl.

Be sure to grab your backpack before they close!

Use code “ERIN15” to save 15% off this bag and other full-priced bags. The code expires October 22nd!

There is a petition here that you can sign if you want to try and stop the closure. I signed it and shared it on Facebook. You never know.

  1. Sold! Love the STYLE and FUNCTIONALITY of these backpAcks. I had to buy one of each since HB is going out of business. So sad. Thank you for the discount code.

  2. Hi,
I’m enjoying my time with your content and finding lots of thinGs To buy. Could you please tell me if yOu have the HB black convertible backpack in All leather or the nylon and leather version?

    Thnaks!
    LAura

    1. I have both… I prefer the look of the all leather version over the nylon version. Although the nylon is slightly lighter. The leather is easy to wipe down and looks a bit more luxe. Hope that helps? Erin xo

  3. HI erin,
I am so grateful for you and your work. I loved cloThes and fasHion in my teens and twenties, then my life changed. I’ve had my challenges too – like everyone. Now I’m about to turn 56 years old. I love being active and just received a lovely compliment second hand that I don’t look a day over 45! Yet…there’s room for improvement and i’m Think seriously about re-entering the work force. So on your advice, Angie at Hotand Flashy’s advice and my husband’s support, I hit the Nordstom sale with a vengeneance! Last night after watching more of your older posts (styly reboot), I pUrged my close. What a relief! Thank you!
I have been a subscriber for over a year. Your real talks have given me great encouragement – love them. I recognize that you are opening your self up to cruelty by exposing your personal journey. I wanted to write to you after i rec your letter that you took down your post Re styLing leggings. That was an era of style that I missed (single mom, grad school, living in the rockies, new marRiage, step motherhood, needing to put money into a few high end pieces instead of everyday style pieces, etc.) I watched your video and was tHrilled to finally get the secrets of how to do this right (I’m grateful to still have attractive legs, at least in leggings, skinny jeans and tights.) I never read the comments, so i have no idea what someone coulD possibly have said or thought to be that unkind. I’m really sorry that people behave in such An unkind, rude or even cruel manner. I had planned to review the video again to compare it to the clothes I now have in my closet. Is it possible for you to again share this information with your subscribers in a format that keeps you safe? If not, i of course undestand and support you in Taking excellent care of yourself.
Thank you for bringing the gift of you, your skill sets, passion, and generosity to so many of us!
    Best regards,
    Anne

    1. Anne… you are SO incredibly kind. And thank YOU for sharing your journey!! I will address leggings again I’m sure! Your support and sweet words really mean so much to me. Thank you!! Erin xo
