You all know how much I love a matching set. They’re effortless, fun, and unexpected. Plus, they’re one of the easiest ways to look pulled together when you’re in a hurry. Matching sets have become increasingly popular and I am 100% on board with this trend! But…wearing matching sets can be tricky. That’s why I’m sharing a few of my tips when shopping for sets …and how to find the perfect twosie for you!
This matching set is by Sabina Musayev from Revolve. The blush color is gorgeous and great for spring. It’s also insanely comfortable and soft. The cap sleeves on this top will soften broad shoulders. The skirt is a great length on my petite 5’4” frame. I’m wearing wedges but could probably get away with sandals. If you’re taller, it will definitely work with sandals or flats.

How To Wear A Matching Set
One of the best things about a set is that you get multiple outfits out of it. You don’t just have to wear the top and bottoms together. You could throw on the skirt with a cute tee and have a completely different outfit. Or you could wear the top with high waist jeans and have a cute summer look! The possibilities are endless! Remember these are also separate pieces.
If you want to wear the matching set, make sure you like the bottoms AND the top. For example, if you don’t like to show your arms, pick a set with a top that has long sleeves (like the one I’m wearing above). Each piece should be able to stand on its own for maximum versatility. How easy would it be for me to pair any of these tops above with jeans?? Hint: pretty easy. 😉
I’ve also noticed that a lot of sets come with a cropped top or sweater. This might seem scary, but when the bottoms or skirt is super high rise, like above the belly button high, then you may show a sliver of skin and that’s about it. It’s not as scandalous as you might think. (In the set I’m wearing above, the top is long enough to be tucked in so it isn’t a problem.)
There are tons of matching set styles out there. Including mini skirts, maxi skirts shorts, pants, etc. Find bottoms you know you’ll wear. If you like your legs, think about a chic shorts suit or skirt (above). If you’d rather cover up, try pants or a maxi skirt (below).
