What a perfect, lovely vacation to look forward to each year. Italy is SUCH a special place and your 3-4 weeks there is surely amazing. Great capsule wardrobe packing tips too! Erin packed a lot more than normal on this particular trip so that she had special pieces to take photos of, but it really is amazing how many outfits you can make out of just a few, very thought out, pieces. We love the quieter towns on the Amalfi Coast and Ischia. I agree the Italians are highly fashionable but many wear smart shoes like a flat or sneaker due to the cobblestones and endless walking. In the South, its mostly uphill. Loved all of Erin’s outfits. Personally, I pack less 7 dresses, one bathing suit, long sleeve black swim cover up which doubles as a long overshirt for chilly nights and wear a white a blazer, tee shirt, liinen slacks and sneakers on the plane packing a pair of comfy flats, sandals, and water slippers for pool and rocky beaches. You can’t believe how many outfits and times I hand-wash abd let sun dry my things. 2 shirts and a pair of shorts and scarfs. You can make more than outfits with that and by packing light beats lugging a heavy suitcase around.

Wearing the right shoes absolutely does matter. I wore my Givenchy platform leather sneakers and never had a problem. I celebrated my 50 in Gibraltar Marseille Genova last year. Celebrating a milestone in Italy is fabulous so glad you enjoyed it. As you said people keep going back. We just returned from Cannes, Genoa, Cinque Terre, Rome and Majorca. Majorca was our favorite. Oh my gosh, I could have completely skipped the Vatican museum. Everyone enjoys different things. 😉 I loved seeing St. Peters and the Sistine Chapel, though. Thanks for the info about Taormina. I definitely think Positano is gorgeous AND off-the-charts expensive so that could be a great option for next time. Would love to check out Sicily too!
