NSale Is Here!
Quick FYI before we get to the good stuff – ALL Nordstrom cardholders can shop right now! Public Access starts on the 28th!
Last year, instead of going in-store to shop, I waited and got everything shipped. This year I visited the gorgeous NYC flagship store on 57th and Broadway.
Denise (our community manager) and I went into Nordstrom in New York so we could try on pieces and see how they fit and felt. There’s something about actually touching something to really understand the quality and fabric.
Keep scrolling to find some of our favorite outfits! Full disclosure, every store offers some sale items, but definitely not all. To see all of our picks in each category, make sure you check out this post!
Interesting story… for the FIRST TIME EVER I had an SD card malfunction. It gave me an error message. So… after shooting a few hours of content, all was lost. We regrouped and reshot everything and that is why my face is SO red in some of these pics! 😉 I was burning up…
SIZE REFERENCE: I’m 5’4″ and wear a size 2-4, Small & 26 Jeans. Denise is 5’5″ and wears a size 6.
PRO TIP: If you can’t shop until Early Access (the 16th) or Public Access (the 28th), I suggest previewing the sale, creating a wishlist and thoughtfully planning your order. It will help you save time, money and also ensure you get the pieces you need.

This Free People sweater is such a good basic! It’s super soft, a little cropped so it’s perfect with jeans (and for petites), and it comes in a few colors. I paired it with some AG slim straight jeans. If you want to try a pair of more relaxed jeans but don’t want to commit to the baggy jeans look, these are a great option! I shared even more of my favorite sweaters and jeans from the sale here and here. On my feet, I’m wearing white P448 sneakers…I have a few pairs of sneakers by this brand and love how comfortable they are!
You’re going to see me wearing most of the same jewelry in these outfits! I picked out some classic pieces that are perfect for every day. The longer necklace by Gorjana is the perfect pendant necklace and super easy to layer with other necklaces. The shorter necklace is by one of my favorite jewelry brands, Monica Vinader. It’s dainty and gorgeous! The earrings I’m wearing are a super lightweight pair of hoops by Gorjana. Does this one look familiar? If you missed this gorgeous All Saints jacket last year, you can scoop it up now! I’m wearing the white but it also comes in black and a beautiful sage green color. This leather moto jacket is definitely very edgy. If you’re looking for something more traditional, with less hardware, this jacket is a great basic.
I’m wearing the All Saints jacket over an old lace cami I bought last year, but DO check out this 1. State cami that’s SO good! . Tip: Size up one size in All Saints jackets. The jeans are a baby bootcut with a cool raw hem by L’Agence. The vertical seam on the legs is angled for a much more slimming effect, which I love! I’m 5’4” and they’re a little long, but since they have a raw hem, you can easily DIY this and just cut them.
On my feet I’m wearing these beautiful black Frame booties with a pointed toe. I love them but they are a little narrow. If you like the look but want something with a side zip, these Paige booties are great.
Denise is wearing the same All Saints jacket in the gorgeous sage green color. Underneath, she has on the Free People ruched sleeve tee. Her shoes are the same P448 sneakers from Look #1. Her jeans are the same style AG jeans from Look #1 but in the wash 17 Years Volt. If you’re looking for a really inexpensive everyday necklace, Denise loves this one by Madewell that she’s wearing above.
#3) Nordstrom Cashmere Poncho & Hat
This Nordstrom poncho is super comfortable and I love how easy and chic it is with jeans. It’s a wool and cashmere blend so it’s super soft and cozy. The jeans I’m wearing are the same AG slim straight jeans from look #1. And the booties are the same pair by Frame from look #2.
I mentioned in my video last week that the sale has a ton of hats…but when I tried them all on, I wasn’t loving all of them. But this Nordstrom hat is perfect! It’ not too tall and the brim isn’t too wide. I also love the color.

#4) Paige Top & Blank NYC Jeans
I realized after shooting this look that this exact top actually isn’t part of the sale. I thought I was trying on this top that IS on sale! They are both by Paige, the same material, the same color, and generally the same style with a few minor differences. I did try on the top that’s on sale and loved it too!
The jeans I’m wearing are by Blank NYC…they have a lot of great jeans in the sale this year. This pair has a raw hem, more relaxed fit, a rip at the knee, and they’re a lighter wash. I finished off the look with a pair of really cool combat boots by Sam Edelman. They have a lug sole (very on trend right now) and are a lace up style BUT…they have a side zip so getting them on and off is easy! The boots also come in three other colors but black will be most versatile. By the way, these cool flattop sunglasses are by Celine but I linked a similar, affordable pair also on sale here.
#5) BB Dakota Dress & Black Mules
I was pleasantly surprised by this BB Dakota dress! It’s super affordable and so chic. I love the smocked cuffs, flattering v-neckline, and the sleeves are great for us 40+ women who want arm coverage. The shoes I’m wearing are a cool pair of woven leather mules by Vince Camuto. If you prefer to wear flats, this is a great option. They’re chic and unique! I bought this one for Spain because it’s so easy to dress up or down. The perfect effortless everyday LBD.

#6) Vince Dress
This Vince dress has everything a woman over 40 could possibly want…sleeves, longer hemline, flattering neckline, cinched waist. It also has a sexy split hem to kick it up a notch. I threw on that white leather All Saints jacket and black Frame booties but you can easily wear it without the third layer, with a different jacket, an with heels, sandals, or sneakers. It’s a super versatile dress to have in your wardrobe! I bought this one and I am bringing it with me to Spain!
Blanc Noir is known for their athleisure style outerwear. This reversible bomber jacket is so cool and the perfect casual jacket to throw on and head out the door. It’s has quilted material, is black on one side, and a subtle camo print on the other. They also have it in a light camo and pink combo but I much prefer the black. I styled it with a long sleeve tee by Free People that I’ve owned for a while, but now it’s on sale! On my bottom half I’m wearing the same AG jeans. And a pair of chunky, platform lug sole Chelsea boots by Steve Madden. These are a little out of my comfort zone but they’re super cool and on-trend.
Denise is wearing the same jacket but with the camo on the outside so you can see both sides! Underneath, she has on the super flattering Spanx bodysuit.

This navy tee by Veronica Beard is another great elevated basic I found while we were shopping. It has a puff sleeve and I love the navy color! I styled it with AG jeans, the platform Steve Madden booties, and this super cool Blanc Noir raincoat! It’s stylish, has a subtle navy camo print, a hood, and can be cinched at the waist for a more flattering fit.
If you’re in the market for a chic trench coat, this is the one I’d buy from the sale! It’s super streamlined, sleek, and flattering. You can belt it to create a more flattering shape, or wear it open for an easy, casual look. The buttons are nice, the length is great, and the adjustable buckle strap cuffs are a nice touch. It’s very sophisticated!
Beyond Yoga is a go to brand for me… I love their loungewear and activewear. This printed set is so soft and comfy. When you’re at home and want to feel pulled together but stay in something that feels like your pajamas…this loungewear is the way to go! The joggers have a wider waistband so you never feel like they’re digging into your stomach. And the top has a more cropped, oversized fit.

I bought a pair of Beyond Yoga leggings and a tank from last year’s sale and have worn them so much that I’ve completely worn them out! This year, I bought this cute pink tank and matching leggings to replace my old ones. I’ll be taking this set to Spain so I can do a little Tracy Anderson in our Madrid apartment. The leggings are super flattering, and you’ll feel secure. They are also really soft, don’t ride up and don’t stick to your skin. The tank is the exact same lovely fabric. I like the pink but the set also comes in a pretty oatmeal and blue.
Denise is wearing the green Blank NYC quilted jacket. This is a great piece to throw on over a casual look for an extra layer of style. Denise said that the jacket runs really big. In the photo above she’s wearing a medium but ended up purchases the XS. She’s wearing the same AG jeans in her other photos, the Spanx bodysuit, and an affordable Madewell necklace.
#13) All Saints Sweater
Unfortunately, this sweater is sold out right now. but if you love it as much as Denise did, keep checking the link to see when it comes back in stock! It’s a great basic to have for fall. She’s also wearing the AG ex-boyfriend jeans and carrying a cool Clare V. tote!
