My husband Chris started a scholarship for kids to learn more about the Holocaust and when we are not in a global pandemic, he takes a group to Berlin, and Poland. I was supposed to go with him a couple of years ago, but there was a massive snow storm in NYC which delayed travel. I did make it to Poland and went to Auschwitz. It was awful, but very impactful. I hope to go with Chris on the full trip as our kids get a bit older. My son is 12 and has visited the Holocaust museum in Washington, D.C. with the actual curator of the museum! History is VERY important thing in our house. Thanks so much for your note.

Dear Erin,
If your goal is to know more about Europe then you have to visit the capitals of each country. I don’t see any photos of Berlin. My family and I went there this summer. I loved it. You still can see and feel the difference between East and South Berlín. Get an apartment in East Berlin beside the Brandenburgertor and Infront of.the American Embassy’s and next to the Holocaust museum, you’ll be in the famous Avenues Unter de Linden in one block away. In East Berlijn you can visit the famous Dome the Cathedral and the television tower symbol of East Berlijn. It is important to teach the children about the Holocaust, the complicated políticas un Berlín aftee.the war, and the cold war. Let’s not forget history.

Morocco is truly magical! If you’re only planning a weekend trip, I’d suggest exploring Essaouira. It’s gorgeous, easy to walk around, and has lots to offer (eat at The Loft Cafe)! Other weekend excursion suggestions: the Christmas markets in Germany, Salzburg (go in winter), the Lake District in the UK (gorgeous scenery and quaint villages), Seville (beautiful architecture), and finally Prague and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. Have fun! I’m so jealous!
