White Dress For Winter
The old rule that you can’t wear white after Labor Day is just that… old. And, incidentally, no longer valid. You can wear white all year. And… I actually prefer to wear white, ivory, or cream over gray and black. I recently bought a GORGEOUS white dress by Yumi Kim that I plan to wear this winter… and I think you’re going to love it.
My Shoot Location
A quick note about my shoot location… it’s Cibolo Creek Ranch near Marfa, Texas. It’s where Chris and I got married and this was our third time back since our wedding 12+ years ago. We absolutely love it here and we are always very excited to share this special place with Gage and Elizabeth. The kids had a blast roaming around with the horses, riding on the paddle boats, swimming and exploring the ranch, which is huge.
I love this beautiful, white Yumi Kim Class Act Dress. The whole dress has a gorgeous Swiss dot material that gives it texture and dimension. The ruffle skirt and elastic waist make it a really flattering silhouette. And the long sleeves and high neck make it more of a winter dress and will keep you a little warmer than a white summer sundress. You can dress this up or down for day or night. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner, christenings, showers (if you’re a bride to be), etc. Just be sure to steam it! 😉 I should have steamed mine, but forgot to bring my travel steamer. I thought about hanging in the shower to steam out the wrinkles that way, but they are experiencing a water shortage in West Texas so I decided to just leave it.
I styled the dress with brown suede boots by Vince Camuto that I styled with white jeans in this post all about brown suede boots and booties. Throw on a pump or strappy heel to dress it up even more. To complete the look I’m carrying the STAUD Shirley bag. I have it in multiple colors and sizes but I love this white canvas and tan leather combination! I bought this bag mainly for spring, but wanted to bring it on our trip to Texas over Thanksgiving.
