Plus Size Picks
I went shopping with my mom! Her name is Peggy. She is 67 years young, and is petite at about 5’4″. My mom is also plus size and has an apple or circle body type…which means her waist measurement is larger than her bust or hips.
I chose to take her to Talbots because they have Plus/Petite sizing.  I contemplated going to a department store, but I wanted the experience to be fun, and less overwhelming.  So… I thought the boutique feel of Talbots was perfect!  My mom’s favorite store has always been Coldwater Creek, but they no longer have brick and mortar stores, only online shopping.

Erin thanks so very very much for addressing the “apple” shape of body. Not quite sure if you would recommend the same clothing that you put your beautiful mom in for someone in their 30’s?? Would you or would you dress them diffrently, I am a size 2x and I am 5’7?? As always I hope you have a great weekend. xo Lisa C.
You are most welcome, Lisa! I do think I would put someone in their 30’s in the same pieces. I think they are great classic pieces! I would love to put my mom in dresses, but alas, she can’t wear them! I’VE TRIED FOR YEARS and refused to give up, but I finally gave up. I’ve encountered this phenomenon with one of my former clients. She was a size 4 and couldn’t wear dresses either. I think every BODY is different, literally. If you can wear dresses, I would definitely add some of those. The white tee and pin tuck tops are super cute. I love the sweater jacket and of course skinny jeans, ankle pants…again all basic pieces for all ages.
