11 Best Cozy Sweaters For Fall & Winter
Are you embracing the cooler temps yet? You might be thinking of adding a few new fall sweaters to your wardrobe. Where do you begin? That’s what I’m here for! You should choose your sweaters wisely! This roundup of sweaters is not only chic and sophisticated but cozy and comfy as well. But, cozy doesn’t have to mean oversized, ill-fitting, and stretched out. Noooo! Soft, high-quality fabrics with a sexy cutout, puff sleeve, or flattering v-neck … that’s the cozy look I’m after. Keep scrolling for 11 of my favorite sweaters getting me through the chilly days and cold nights of fall and winter…

1) AllSaints Raw Hem Sweater
This gorgeous green AllSaints sweater is my recent go-to cozy fall sweater! It was also the #1 best seller last month so I know that all of YOU love it just as much as I do! It is the perfect color and length for leaving untucked or doing the half-tuck. It’s soft and warm (cashmere blend) which is essential during fall and winter in Colorado. I absolutely LOVE the color, but it comes in 5 other colors too. And the distressed look of the raw hem adds interest and edge to the sweater. It has a roomy fit but it’s not too oversized, a must for sophisticated coziness. I love it paired with jeans but I’ve styled it a few ways this fall. Including with leggings and a collared shirt in this post.

2) Pistola Green Sweater
Sticking with the green color theme, I wanted to share a more affordable option. This green Pistola sweater. It’s a beautiful color, has strong (but subtle) shoulders, and is the perfect not-too-oversized sweater you need in your closet! Considering the high quality, it’s amazing that this sweater is under $140! It also comes in a beautiful burgundy color and runs true to size. I love it styled with jeans on its own but I could definitely see this sweater with a leather jacket or cool coat.
3) Jenni Kayne Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan
Looking for a cardigan sweater you can cozy up in AND style in sophisticated ways?? This cashmere Jenni Kayne sweater is IT! I’m wearing it buttoned up with a pair of jeans and knee-high boots. But you could easily style this with comfortable leggings and slippers for a cozy day at home, black pants and a camisole for the office, or a blouse and wide-leg jeans for dinner. It’s an investment but the quality is amazing, it’s super versatile, and you’ll wear it for years and years! I have the ivory but it comes in 10 other colors too.
See more ways I’ve styled the cardigan here.
4) Jenni Kayne Cotton Sweater
If you are only going to buy ONE sweater this season…THIS is the sweater you need! It’s so versatile for cooler months and comes in eight colors. With 100% cotton fabric, it’s lightweight enough for warmer climates but thick enough to keep you warm in the mountains of Colorado during the fall. Plus, it layers beautifully under a jacket. The ribbed knit texture gives any outfit depth, and the more relaxed fit is perfect for styling multiple ways. I also love the small cable knit details on the shoulders. Wear it with… jeans and booties, tucked or untucked, underneath your favorite jacket or coat, thrown over a dress, or tied around your shoulders with a tee…the possibilities are endless, and you can dress it up or down.
5) Jenni Kayne Cashmere Blend Sweater
This lightweight, yet warm wool and cashmere blend set is my go-to loungewear look for cozy days at home. It’s SO soft and chic. It looks and feels very luxurious. The sweater is a little oversized but doesn’t feel like you’re swimming in fabric. I love it with the flattering wide-leg pull-on style pants. But it also pairs beautifully with jeans. I half-tucked the sweater into the pants and pushed up the sleeves. (If you want a slimmer fit with the sweater, I suggest sizing down one size.) My favorite thing about these pieces is that you can mix and match them with other pieces in your closet!
6) Jonathan Simkhai Sweater Jacket
Next up, is this Jonathan Simkhai sweater jacket. This is a really cool piece. It has a waist-defining detail that’s very flattering and a small peplum that’s great for hiding a tummy. The contrasting ribbing and cable knit textured sleeves are also really cool. You can wear it zipped up with jeans or unzipped with a cami or blouse underneath.
7) Aqua Cashmere Camo Sweater
This gorgeous Aqua Cashmere camo print sweater has been a long-time favorite of mine and if you’re a subscriber, you probably remember it! I also have the same sweater in black and gray. The sweater is thin enough that you can tuck, half-tuck it or leave it out. For a slightly roomier fit, order your traditional size (I’m wearing a small). If you want a more fitted look, size down.
All of the AQUA sweaters are so soft, luxe… and the price is AMAZING! They’re almost always on sale, which makes them super affordable for cashmere. They last a long time AND they wash and wear well. I wash mine in cold water with a gentle detergent in the gentle cycle and lay flat to dry. I love Aqua Cashmere sweaters so much that I now own quite a few. Keep scrolling to find two more of my favorites…
8) Aqua Cashmere Star Sleeve Sweater
I bought this Aqua star sleeve sweater a few years ago and still wear it every fall! The stars along the arms just give it a fun detail that’s different and cool. You can wear this alone or throw a jacket on if you have to run an errand and it’s cold out. It also comes in blue with pink stars and gray with white stars. I really love all three options…the black and white is classic, the pink stars are fun, and the gray with white stars is a little more subtle.
9) Cashmere Cutout Turtleneck
Every woman needs a turtleneck sweater in her wardrobe. But if you don’t have one…this is the one you should choose to buy! It’s one of those basics with a twist I’m always talking about. The cutout gives it a unique detail that brings the basic black turtleneck to the next level. It’s super soft, cozy, and comfortable. I styled it with black pants but you could wear it with jeans for a more casual look. Oh, and you can wear a regular bra with it…a big WIN in my book!
10) Sheer Sleeve Cashmere Turtleneck
This gorgeous ivory sweater is by C by Bloomingdale’s Cashmere. The sweater features some super cool sheer mesh sleeves and a traditional turtleneck. The cashmere is so soft and warm, but the mesh sleeves give you some breathing room. This is a cashmere sweater you can wear in warmer climates (or if you have hot flashes) because it’s not too warm. And even with the puff sleeves, it’s still easy to layer under jackets and coats.
11) Free People Pullover
There’s nothing cozier than chunky knits, right?! This Free People sweater might look familiar because I bought it back in July during the NSale. I’ve already worn it a TON and featured it in a few posts. This exact color is selling out fast so if you see your size, grab it! I love the color for lightening up a fall/winter look and it’s really comfortable. It’s also like the goldilocks of sweater lengths…it’s a little cropped, but it’s not too short, and it’s not too long! It also comes in black.

Last week, my sister was helping her family buy some autumn and winter clothes and saw an affordable website. The seller is Chinese, worried about the quality of the clothes and the after-sales logistics. Please give me advice. thank you very much
Depends on which one and if it seems sketchy, it probably is. I don’t order from those anymore.
I love them all but I think the last one is my favorite.
Thanks, Lara!!
They are all really cute.
Aw, thanks, Jodie!! xoxo
hey erin – i love your posts and most importantly your ‘picks’ but everytime i use the links to review/purchase the item, i find that it is sold out and even if it isn’t sold out, it generally will only be available in one size, usually xs or xxs. Just thought you should know. Thanks for all you do. Jan
I appreciate the information, Jan! Wish I had more control on the quantity. It’s an issue… especially with the more affordable retailers. The stock runs out so quickly.
