Paper Bag Shorts by Marissa Webb
Paper bag shorts have become more and more popular. They are big this summer, and you’ll definitely see them heading into fall with paper bag pants, even paper bag waist jeans! It’s REALLY tough to find a pair of shorts I love. Kind of like the proverbial needle in the haystack. For me, the perfect shorts have to have a longer inseam (at least 5 inches)… the leg holes need to be wider… and they need to have modern details and a silhouette that makes them more sophisticated than your average chino shorts. This pair below definitely checks all of the boxes!
Paper Bag Shorts
Paper bag shorts are very on-trend right now. They fall into the fall fashion trend category of Modern Utility that I talked about in this post. These Marissa Webb shorts are one of my favorite summer finds and definitely one of my favorite ‘utility‘ pieces. They’re chic, comfortable, and easy to style. The button details on the front …give the shorts something interesting and the tie waist is super flattering. Marissa Webb is known for her perfect mix of edge and femininity. I linked more of my favorites below.
High Neck Top
This top is by Frame. Every year, I have routinely picked up at least one Frame blouse. They are pricey, but worth EVERY penny because they are all so well made and really speak to my style of modern elegance. This top is a gorgeous silk fabric and I’ve been wearing it with everything from shorts to jeans to pants. It’s a great white top to have in your closet! You will truly reach for it again and again. To finish off the look I’m wearing some Vince Camuto peep-toe mules. You can find more about them in this post. I wore this look to dinner during my recent CEOChix conference in San Diego and it was perfect for our casual dinner.
