Simple 5-Minute Makeup Routine
Before I dive into the 5-minute makeup routine, I wanted to clarify that I am NOT a makeup artist. If you want a professional to assess what makeup would work best for YOU…I strongly suggest you take advantage of the in-store services at Nordstrom whenever this is all over! But for right now, you’ll have to work on perfecting your own 5-minute makeup routine! Since this quarantine started, people have talked about how we have so much more time on our hands…I don’t know what they’re talking about because I feel like I have even less time now! I have to work, home school the kids, cook more meals for everyone, and the list never ends. That’s why it’s so important for me to have this quick 5-minute makeup routine in the morning!
Multi-Purpose Products
The first key to my 5-minute makeup routine is having the right products. Palettes and 2-in-1’s are definitely HUGE time savers. The palette I’m lovely lately, is the Instant Look in a Palette Beauty Glow by Charlotte Tilbury. It has almost everything you need: eye shadows, bronzer, highlighter, blush… This is a ‘limited edition’ palette so if it comes back in stock, I would scoop it up quickly. It is PERFECT for travel too!! It’s sold out but Nordstrom has another limited edition Instant Look in Smokey Eye.

Step #1 | Foundation
While in pursuit of a new, lightweight foundation, I stumbled across the highly reviewed, Magic Foundation by Charlotte Tilbury. I like VERY natural, light coverage that looks like your skin, just a little better. If you also prefer that type of coverage, you will LOVE this foundation. I bought #02. You can see the difference on the left side of my face (above). It’s subtle. I apply my foundation with a wet sponge to sheer it out even more. If you want to have more coverage, use a brush like this one.
Sunscreen
I really like that the foundation also includes SPF, which is another time-saver for me. (Throw a mist or powder sunscreen in your bag to reapply mid-day).

Step #2 | ConcealerÂ
Concealing is a must for tired, busy moms like me. It hides a LOT… and makes you look fresh and rested. This concealer is called The Retoucher conceal and treat stick. It moisturizes and doesn’t sit in your wrinkles! The brush applicator means I don’t have to grab a brush to apply my concealer…It’s a seemingly small thing, but it’s a time saver for sure! I bought Fair 02. If you are super fair, choose 01.
Step #3 | Eyelids
Here is your SUPER easy eye shadow routine. You can follow along with these steps in the pictures above.
Using the Instant Look palette:
1) First, I applied the “Eye Brighten” shade from the lash line to the brow bone.
2) Next, I added “Eye Enhance” in the crease.
3) Then I lined the upper and lower lids with “Eye Smoke.”
4) I finished the shadow bronzed look by lining the inner corner of the eye with “Eye Brighten.”
I’m typically not an all-over shimmer shadow kind of person, but there is something about Charlotte Tilbury’s shadows…They are gorgeous! This is my second CT palette. Both have shimmer shades, and I love and use both!

Step #4 | Curling Lashes
Unless you’ve had an eyelash perm or eyelash extensions…You will likely need to curl your lashes. It’s an extra step, but SOOOOOO worth it, in terms of making your lashes look fuller, and your eyes look bigger and more awake! The exact CT eyelash curling I’m using is sold out but I linked a similar one.

Step #5 | Mascara
Mascara is a key part of my morning routine. I think it makes such a big impact on your look. I am loving this Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes for every day. It separates like nobody’s business, and it does NOT clump. It is also buildable and stays put. This mascara creates a very different look from CT’s Legendary Lashes, which is more for evening (or daytime drama). And, does tend to bleed.
Step #6 | Cheeks
And, herein lies the genius of the “Instant Look in a Palette” palette…It not only has your eyeshadow shades, but it also includes everything you need for your cheeks, including contouring! Again, this is a BIG time saver! When you have to keep switching products, it takes time. Here are the steps I took above to create contoured (and rosy) cheeks and face:
1) Using “Face Bronzer” I contour my cheekbones and jawline
2) I add “Cheek Swish” to the apples of my cheeks
3) I finish off the cheeks with “Face Highlight” across my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.
Be sure to keep scrolling to see how the highlighter and eyeshadow really catch the light.

Step #7 | Lips
This shade of lipstick (above) called “Bi**ch Perfect,” is the perfect everyday color…your lips, but better! It is SO creamy, and lasts a while! It’s a little on the pricey side, so for those on a budget, check out this similar shade for less (beige pop). (Notice I did NOT line my lips. If you have the luxury of an extra minute, line them with a lip color shade like this one called “Dervish“ by Mac.) You can also always add a neutral shade gloss in the center of your lips, to make them stand out even more!

Before & After
Not bad for 5-minutes, right? It looks like I’m rested and ready to take on the world…Even if I want to jump back in bed and hide under the covers. I LOVE the way the light catches the “Eye Brighten” on my eyes and the “Face Highlight” on my cheeks.
This look is light and natural (not overdone), which is exactly what I want.
