Once I wrapped my head around the fact that I needed a double mastectomy, I had no choice but to accept the fact that my body was about to change dramatically. The last thing I expected was the skin changes that suddenly impacted my life. Everyone is aware of hair loss during chemo. But, no one really talks about the dryness, itching, burning, discoloration and scarring to your skin. As an added challenge, while undergoing treatment, your skin may become sensitive to products that you’ve loved and used for years. Amid so many other transformations to your body, you should never be ashamed to prioritize skin care, beauty, and comfort when it comes to this crazy journey.
