This Breakthrough Technology Will Blow Your Mind!

Bose Frames

I’m not sure how I became an unofficial technology tester, but let me tell you… I LOVE it! I have always been an early adopter of technology. Give me a gizmo and I will test it, especially when it solves a legitimate problem as the new Bose Frames do. (You might also like the post I did on new bra fit technology here.)

Huge thank you to QVC for compensating me for this post…and asking me to be among the first to review and test these sunglasses.

What Are Bose Frames?

These Bose sunglasses that come in two styles (I’m wearing Alto) are equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology. They allow you to listen to music, make and take calls, and even access Siri or Google Assistant. It basically means you can have a one-woman dance party while walking down the street, no headphones or earbuds required!

Here are some of the specifications worth noting:

  • Includes hard case and an easy-to-use magnetic charging cable
  • They are almost weightless on your face
  • Integrated microphone for taking calls
  • Non-polarized lenses, but they do block 99% of UVA/UVB rays
  • Siri-, Google Assistant-ready
  • 30 feet range
  • Battery life is about 3 1/2 hours
  • Lens are shatter and scratch resistant

How Do They Work?

See the cracked phone screen above? It belongs to Josh. He’s the photographer who takes most of my pictures. I forgot my phone on this shoot, and I borrowed his. We wirelessly connected his iPhone to the Bose Frames in a matter of seconds. That is how easy it is! Once you are connected, simply play music from your phone and you will hear it through the sunglasses.

It’s VERY Simple to Connect with These Steps:

  1. Head to the “Settings” app on your phone.
  2. Tap “Bluetooth” and wait for “Bose Frames” to pop up under “Other Devices.
  3. Tap on “Bose Frames” and they will instantly connect. Once connected you can play your downloaded music or any of your streaming music services like Spotify or Apple Music.
  4. You should also download the “Bose Connect” app to personalize your settings, but you do not need this step to connect.

Once you connect to your phone, you can play or pause music, accept or reject calls and use Siri or Google Assistant with the same gold button. It’s located under the right arm of the sunglasses.

How Is The Sound?

In true Bose fashion, the sound is amazing! I wanted to test the sound quality as well as how easily others around me can hear the music. At full volume, people will be able to hear the music, but it is so faint they might not even place where it’s coming from. And, they would have to be sitting near you. If you are walking down the street, I don’t think anyone is going to hear your music with ambient noise.

I am a huge fan of Bose. I have their SoundSport headphones, which I used while running and training for the NYC marathon last year. The Bose Sleepbuds are also game-changers! I use them to drown out our dog’s snoring. Yes, Traveler snores! I can play different sounds through Bluetooth all night long like “Warm Static.” I featured the Sleepbuds on Instagram here.

Size & Weight

As I mentioned above, these sunglasses are almost weightless on your face. I also think the size is perfect for my face, not too big, not too small. I did notice a slight slippage down the bridge of my nose. Addressing that minor issue is simple, just grab some silicone nose pads.

Charging these is a cinch with the magnetic, USB-enabled charger. It takes about 2 hours to get a full charge and again you can stream or play music for about 3 1/2 hours before the battery dies.

Classic and Stylish Sunglasses

Of course, I need to talk about the style of these sunglasses. I really love this classic, wayfarer shape. They always make me think of Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Bose was smart to pick this style because it works well for most face shapes as well as for both men and women. There is one other style option that is a bit more round called the Rondo.

Regular shipping with QVC can take about two weeks, you may want to choose expedited shipping to get your Bose Frames sooner. For select items, you can also use Easy Pay and split your payments, over a longer period of time at no additional charge.
