Spring is such an exciting (but busy) time of the year. Whether you have dinners, weddings, special occasions, or just need some office outfit inspo, I have you covered in this post and video! I’m going to start with some pretty casual outfits first and then we’ll work up to dressier outfits for special occasions and weddings.
If you’re looking for some incredible, elevated spring basics, make sure you check out this post next!
Look #1) Joggers & Tee
This is a super wearable look for weekends, hanging out or working at home, running errands, etc. It’s very comfortable, forgiving, and flattering. These pants are some of my all-time favorite joggers by James Perse I’ve heard for a few years. They’re a really versatile, neutral olive green, have a comfortable elastic waistband, and are a great length for me (I’m 5’4”). I paired them with a simple white v-neck tee. The exact shirt I’m wearing is by ATM but a more affordable option I love is this tee by Madewell. I tied a Jenni Kayne cotton sweater around my shoulders in case I get cold or want some extra arm coverage. Then I added some gold Dean Davidson hoops, glam sunglasses, my Dior saddle bag, and a pair of Golden Goose sneakers.

2 More Ways to Wear Joggers
Joggers are a great alternative to jeans and I wanted to share two more ways to style this pair of joggers. In the look on the left, I styled the joggers with a black Nation LTD shirt and some combat boots. I love the contrast of the feminine top with the edgy shoes. On the right, I’m wearing a feminine, delicate white blouse by Maje. This look is a great example of how to take the joggers and dress them up a bit more!
Look #2) Layered Sweater & Jeans
This is the look you pull out when you don’t know what to wear…it’s my go-to look right now! It’s a Brochu Walker pre-layered sweater…so it looks like you’re wearing a button-down under the sweater but it’s actually one piece. This takes the guesswork out of layering, doesn’t add extra bulk, and makes the look more polished. I paired it with some Moussy Vintage jeans…you all know how much I love this brand. The washes are beautiful and the inseam lengths are more favorable for shorter women like me. I completed the look with the same Golden Goose sneakers, some aviator sunglasses, silver jewelry, and a tote bag by Hereu (unfortunately sold out but I linked another option below).
By the way, you can use code BUSBEESTYLE15 to get 15% off this Brochu Walker sweater!
Pre-Layered Sweater with Joggers
I wanted to show you another way to wear this sweater so you can see how versatile it is! In this look, I paired the sweater with some Cinq a Sept silky cargo joggers, a two-tone sporty handbag, cat eye sunglasses, and some heeled booties. This look is a little more elevated and edgier.
Look #3) White Turtleneck Sweater & Jeans
This elevated outfit is one that’s a little dressier so you could transition from day to night. I’m wearing a Karen Millen sweater that has a cool chain detail at the shoulder. The jeans are another pair by Moussy Vintage but they’re a straight leg versus the tapered leg in look #2. The booties I’m wearing are by Karen Millen but have limited sizing so I linked a similar pair below. I finished off the look with my Dior bag, Dean Davidson hoops, and a pair of glam sunglasses.

Look #4) Sweater & Black Pants
This is an outfit I wore to dinner on a recent trip to California that’s very chic, polished, and elevated. This is another Brochu Walker sweater that’s pre-layered (don’t forget to use code BUSBEESTYLE15 for 15% off!). It’s a charcoal gray v-neck sweater with subtle puff sleeves and black lace trim at the neckline and hem. It looks like you have a beautiful camisole underneath that’s very subtle but adds a lot of interest. I paired that with some split-seam Commando pants, the same Dior bag, classic hoop earrings, and some chic black booties.
Look #5) Red Jacket, Blouse & Black Pants
I wanted to give you a few office outfit ideas for those of you who are back in the office! This look is such a beautiful, unexpected look. It’s colorful and just makes me feel so much joy! I’m wearing a red Valentino coat with contrasting white stitching that gives the illusion of a smaller waist. Underneath, I’m wearing a fun Zadig & Voltaire silky blouse with a fun lip print on it. I saw the print and thought it was a little funky but wanted to try it…and I love it! These pants are similar to the pants in look #4 but this pair is by Spanx and has a split hem on the side. These pants have a lot of structure and make you feel secure in the tummy area. I finished off the look with a bold red lip and some black pumps.

Look #6) Turtleneck Sweater & White Pants
This is the same white sweater from look #3 paired with some white Karen Millen split-hem pants and booties that creates a super chic all-white look. Then I threw on this gorgeous green oversized double-breasted blazer. This blazer is oversized but still tailored so I have strong shoulders and a nipped-in waist that creates an hourglass shape.
Green Blazer with All-All Black
If an all-white outfit isn’t your style…try the green blazer with an all-black look instead. This look would be perfect for date night! Underneath the blazer, I’m wearing a lace corset top by Jonathan Simkhai, flattering black split-hem pants, and some fierce platforms heels.
Look #7) Pink Dress
Now for some exciting, standout, special occasion pieces! This first one is this bright, bold Farm Rio dress in this gorgeous pink color. It has structured shoulders, a small (strategically flattering) cutout, draped neck, midi length, and silky fabric. It’s super lightweight, the way it’s draped is so flattering, and the length is so lovely. It’s appropriate for a wedding but still packs a punch and makes a statement. I love it SO much! I paired it with white booties and hoops earrings, but you could swap the booties for a pair of pumps or strappy heels.

#8) Blue Dress
Next up is this gorgeous blue Veronica Beard dress that’s another great wedding guest dress option. This dress is taffeta so it’s super travel-friendly because it won’t wrinkle, is soft and silky on the skin, and has nice heft and structure to it but is still lightweight. I also love the criss-cross at the neck…especially if you really love your arms! The length is wonderful too. Style it with a white blazer or wrap for a church wedding and then take that off for dinner and dancing.
#9) Green Silk Dress
The next two options are on the super sexy side. I recently did a post on how to break the fashion “rules” that people say 40+ women shouldn’t break. I think it’s okay (and encouraged) to dress sexy if you want to dress sexy. And this is a great example…I’m wearing a silk Zimmermann dress in a beautiful emerald green tone. It has a mock neck, flattering draping, and it’s a faux wrap style so it’s flattering around the tummy and waist.
I paired the dress with some ridiculously sexy thigh-high leather boots by Stuart Weitzman. They make the whole look super sexy. But this dress is so versatile that it can be styled different ways for different occasions. Wear it with pumps or strappy heels to dial it down a little, try it with sock booties to keep it sexy while dressing it down a little, or rock those thigh-high boots!
#10) Sexy Black Dress
I love this black Atoir dress because while it is sheer, it still has sleeves, a longer hemline, and a mock neck. It’s very dressy and I love the sexy peek-a-boo factor, but you’re still covered and warm. I’d wear this for a dressy date night or special occasion dinner.
