How do you know if you have this body type?

Or try this…
Get a measuring tape out.
Measure the widest part of your hips.
Measure the fullest part of the bust.
If your hips are larger than your bust by 2 or more inches, you are a TRIANGLE or PEAR-SHAPED body type.
Shoulders play a role in proportion.
If your shoulders are the same width or wider than hips, you can use those to look more proportionate.
In general you want to wear bold and light colors on your upper body, as well as prints and statement jewelry. These will all highlight your smaller half.
In contrast, you can wear darker colors (no prints) on your lower body to minimize.
Flared, a-line and full skirts will also mask bigger hips, butt and thighs.
When wearing skirts, don’t worry about the color or pattern, as long as it’s flared, a-line or full, it will minimize hips.
