Summer Wedding Guest Dresses
Do you have a wedding coming up this summer? Summer weddings are so exciting, beautiful, and full of love. But finding the perfect dress to wear to a wedding is ALWAYS a struggle. For starters, deciphering the dress code listed on the invitation can be like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube! Some are black tie, others black tie optional… some are on the beach, while others are in a castle. There’s cocktail, semi-formal, formal, white tie…and the list goes on and on. This article on Brides.com is SO helpful when you need to quickly reference what a dress code means. If you’re searching for summer wedding guest dresses, I’m sharing four beautiful options below that range all different dress codes so you’re sure to find something you love that will work for the wedding you’re attending.
#1) Blue Mini Dress
This is one of those dresses you can dress up for a wedding, event, and dinner, or dress down for a casual lunch with friends or even running errands. It’s a bright, feminine, flirty dress and the color is beautiful on so many skin tones. The way that the ruffle details lay is very flattering and helps create the illusion of an hourglass figure. It runs true to size and is very forgiving. Style it with pumps, espadrille wedges, or strappy heels depending on the level of dressiness you need. Style it with flat sandals or sneakers for casual dinners, lunches, or running errands.
Appropriate for Dressy Casual & Casual wedding dress codes.
This Farm Rio dress is so fun! I love the pattern for summer. The bodice is super flattering and supportive so even though it has an open strappy back, you don’t need to worry about the bra situation because there’s plenty of structure in the bodice. This dress is perfect for so many occasions this summer. Wear it to weddings, graduations, showers, vacations, or even just to dinner! I’m wearing it with wedges, which is perfect for an outdoor wedding. But you could wear pumps, strappy heels, or some cute heeled mules for an even more elevated look.
Appropriate for Cocktail, Semi-Formal, Casual, Tropical, or Destination wedding dress codes.
This Ralph Lauren dress is SO beautiful and feminine. I love the flattering asymmetrical neckline and pleated details. The tie belt is great for some added waist definition. I love the length because of 1) the coverage and 2) it makes it appropriate for so many different wedding dress codes with just a few accessory changes!
Appropriate for Cocktail, Black-Tie Optional, Formal & Semi-Formal wedding dress codes.
#4) Pink & Red Gown
Last, but certainly not least, is a wonderful option for dressier weddings and events. It’s this super flattering color block gown. Pink and red are such a fun color combination for summer. I love the high slit because it really slims the legs. It has a subtly sexy flattering V-neckline and the strategic color blocking highlights the waist. Add some impactful jewelry, a fabulous pair of shoes, and a classic handbag for a sophisticated and chic wedding look.
Appropriate for Black-Tie, Formal & Black-Tie Optional wedding dress codes.
