College Years
I remember wearing chokers in the 90’s.
One of the first times I wore a choker, it was for a college dance.
It’s funny I have almost no memory of the dance, but I can remember exactly what I wore, and how I felt.
I wore a long, fitted velvet dress with a matching velvet choker.
I felt really special and glam.
It was one of the rare occasions I ‘dressed up’.
(Remember the 90’s were ALL about grunge…
I lived in plaid, flannel shirts and ripped up jeans).
So… chokers hold a special place in my heart.
Today
I’m 20+ years older now.
And, while I want to wear chokers, my neck is not exactly the same…
I prefer the subtle chokers that almost blend in with your skin (see pictures above)…
Versus the more contrasting colors like black.
