These Velvet Pants Are SO Flattering
Inherently, velvet is NOT slimming. The heavy fabric and texture tends to add bulk.
However, these, gorgeous, black velvet pants by Veronica Beard (below) are an exception!

Velvet Pants
These pants are VERY slimming, and here’s why:
1) They are black. Black is slimming
2) The fabric is not heavy or very textured.
It’s a thin velvet with little to no contrast, unlike a ‘crushed’ velvet look
3) They are also higher rise, which makes your legs look longer
I’m wearing size 26. I would say these run a little small, so consider sizing up.
Black Mules
These black mules are from Target, and only $34!
They have a narrow fit, so you might want to size up… 1/2 size.

NYC Shoot
By the way, this is one of my favorite spots in the city to shoot, the library and Bryant Park. It’s SO gorgeous with a lot of variety.
You can shoot against the all white library or add some greenery like the pictures above in Bryant Park.
When I lived in New York, I rarely made my way to Bryant Park. I wish I had spent more time there!
If you don’t already know, my family visited the city to watch my husband run the marathon. You can read more about that here.

Tony Robbins: I was convinced by a good friend to attend a seminar with her. For me it was a complete waste of a lot of money. I don’t know why but it reminded me of Werner Erhard (excuse the spelling) in the 60’s! A little too cultist for me. I’m sure a lot of people do enjoy him, I’m probably way too cynical for sure. Keep an open mind.
Oh no…really? I can understand the feeling of ‘cult-like’… like maybe you stepped into another universe or time. What are all of these people doing?? LOL. Did you feel like you garnered any useful takeaways? Or just waste of time for you? Erin xo
Those beautiful velvet pants are stunning, but darling girl you sure do not need anything to look slimmer.
I have narrow feet. I hope those mules will fit me.
The plaid coat is gorgeous.
Thanks Erin for all your great videos and ideas on how we can look like we have our act together, even if we really don’t.
We all want to look our best, Rita!! 😉 When I wear boyfriend jeans, it looks a lot different and less flattering than when I wear these beauties. Thanks as always for your wonderful support. I am most grateful. Erin xo
Hi Erin! Happy Monday. These are lovely pants. I’m surprised the silver buttons aren’t accentuating the hips. A very nice touch. You have worn these before. Getting more into the reds now. I love it ?
I do have a question for you. I purchased the leather Henry Bendel bag and I was wondering if the straps on yours were tight. I am placing them in the correct way. I double checked that. I can’t think of what I’m missing. . I’m very small and petite. 5’4”, 110 lbs I just need to make sure its the bag. I cannot carry it as a backpack with a coat on.
Thanks. Have a great day.
Cheated inside the hips creates the illusion of smaller hips! If you want the look of larger hips, these are probably not the pants for you. The HB jetsetter has straps that are adjustable. You should be able to simply loosen so that the straps are better for you. Erin xo
