Sneaky Good Foundation

I wanted to share a new makeup discovery with all of you. It’s a foundation I found at Bloomingdales by Clinique called, Even Better Glow… and this stuff is sneaky good!

I will give you the full scoop, but first… I must share some essential foundation application tips!

Foundation Application Tips

1) Use Primer

Primer creates a smooth base for your foundation. It also helps to make skin look hydrated and temporarily fills in lines.  I know it’s one extra step, but I promise…it’s worth it!

2) Use a Sponge

Since I started using a beauty sponge about 6 years ago, I’ve never looked back. It sheers out the coverage, so the foundation REALLY looks like your skin, but better! If you like a natural finish, a beauty sponge is the way to go!

3) Mix Colors

Your skin may change colors, depending on the season. For example, right now I have a little color on my face from the sun so I add a few drops of darker foundation to my lighter shade to create a color that’s perfect for my current skin tone.

Matte Version

The foundation also has a matte version for those that don’t want to glow. It’s simply called Even Better Makeup. Both are long-wear.

If you are a fan of Clinique’s Moisture Surge products, I think you will love the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly pictured above. It’s incredibly hydrating and protects your skin from pollution.

The Texture

This is one of the most liquid foundations that I’ve ever used. I couldn’t place it at first, but I realized it reminded me of a Chanel foundation I used to use and LOVE. The texture makes it incredibly easy to blend in, and it also creates a second skin type finish.

What’s In It? (And, not in it)

The Even Better Glow has VERY subtle luminizing pigments, which reflect light, creating a natural-looking glow. The vitamin C and SPF 15 help prevent future dark spots and skin damage. The foundation is fragrance-free, paraben-free, and safe on sensitive skin. It is also long-wear so the coverage lasts all day!

The Finish

I wanted to show you some serious skin close-ups so you can see exactly what I mean by a flawless, second-skin-like finish. You don’t see a trace of makeup and that is how I like it!! It’s not settling into creases and it certainly is not highlighting pores. It’s also hydrating… so my skin looks healthy and moisturized. I ordered a darker color because I have a slight tan right now, but I’m definitely planning to order another shade or two to play around with some lighter tones as well.
