Buzzworthy Brands That You Didn’t Realize Are Eco-Friendly

Good For the Globe

Did you know that April is Earth Month? I love finding pieces that are not only stylish but also good for the environment. That’s why I was SOOO excited when Bloomingdale’s reached out to me about featuring their Carousel… a special pop-up shop that changes every couple of months… called Good For The Globe.

The Good For The Globe Carousel has eco-friendly and socially conscious products, including everything from games made out of recycled fishing nets to jackets made from vintage fabric…to jeans that use less water.

Faithfull The Brand Top

How gorgeous is this bright green top by Faithfull The Brand! I’m not big on florals, but I love the sophisticated and simple floral print on this top! It’s very feminine and pretty. And, the color is such a standout! The wrap style makes it quite flattering and I like the cute tie sleeve detail. All of Faithfull the Brand products are designed, sourced and produced in Bali using handmade techniques such as hand-dying and hand-printing.

Veja

Another brand that I’m a BIG fan of… Veja sneakers. I  bought this pair of sneakers about six months ago and featured them in my monthly favorites video here. Every part of these chic sneaks is made with mother earth in mind. The cotton is from an organic farm in Brazil, where no pesticides are used. The rubber is sourced from the Amazon using traditional techniques. And, you will find FULL transparency on the site that shows you where every material comes from.

Levi’s Jeans

Did you know that Levi’s jeans are environmentally conscious? Not to mention stylish. I love them so much, I bought TWO pairs!  50% of Levi’s products are made with “Water Less” techniques. That is exactly what it sounds like, they use less hot water to wash them. Levi’s has saved more than 1.8 billion liters of water and 129 million liters of recycled water.

The jeans I’m wearing above are the popular 721 Skinny Jeans in Rugged Indigo. If you are not a fan of distressing there are plenty of Levi’s with no holes or rips. I’m 5’4” and these jeans run a little long, but I think they look great cuffed. If you are taller (around 5’7″) the length should be perfect!

Another Pair of Levi’s

The second pair of Levi’s are the white Wedgie Icon Tapered Jeans. They have a funny name but they’re SO cute! The tapered leg is something fresh and ne. And. I really like the frayed hem. In the detailed shot of these jeans, you can see the cool distressing details throughout the legs. These cropped jeans are the perfect length to highlight all your cute spring shoes!

Kayu Bag

If you don’t already have a woven bag for spring…you should get one! They are one of the “It” bags for spring/summer!  This chic one by Kayu is a great size, has a beautiful versatile, natural color, and has a modern double ring handle. Kayu is part of the Good For The Globe Carousel because they use locally-sourced and natural materials like straw, shells, and recycled wood. The products are also handmade by local artisans using indigenous techniques!

What is the sizing of the green top? Love the color but on the site it seems like it runs small. Just want to make sure. I usually get a small but may need to size up on this one. 34C bust.
