…by Time and Tru From Walmart
A shirtdress is an easy way to look effortlessly chic. Throw one on…and be ready in seconds. Or, dress it up to elevate your style game. I wanted to share two of my go-to ways to style a shirtdress below.
#1 | Shirtdress
Wearing a shirtdress on its own is the easiest and quickest option. It’s chic, sophisticated, and stylish. This shirtdress is by Time and Tru from Walmart. I love a tie waist shirtdress. It creates a very feminine shape using a traditional menswear-inspired button-down dress. It’s such a great contrast. The tie waist accentuates your waist or gives you a waist if you don’t already have one. This dress has roll-tab sleeves so you can wear them at whatever length you’d prefer. I think rolled up creates more of an effortless look. The length of the dress is perfect for petites. (If you are taller, see my styling option below.)
And, I buried the lead… this shirtdress is only $13!! The black is sold out in most sizes, but it comes in five other colors. I’ve also linked similar options below.
Shoes
These chic white heels by Louise et Cie are so unique, ladylike, yet modern! These shoes are gorgeous with dresses and jeans. My favorite part is the metal bar with the pearls! It’s an interesting detail I’ve actually never seen on a pair of shoes below. They have an adjustable ankle strap on the back and an elongating pointed toe.

Shirtdress With Jeans
The second way to wear a shirtdress is with jeans! As I mentioned above, this shirtdress is perfectly fine on its own. But if you want more coverage or it’s cooler where you live, this is another option! It would be cute for dinner or even on casual office days. I’m wearing the same Time and Tru shirtdress with the gorgeous Louise et Cie heels. But now I’m wearing jeans underneath! You can see that I unbuttoned the shirtdress on the bottom to make it look more like a top. This look is really chic, edgy, and unexpected!
Walmart Fashion
Since I started shopping at Walmart again, I’ve been so pleasantly surprised. Their line Time and Tru is one of my favorite Everyday Brands. Time and Tru has affordable, modern basics. I also love checking the Premium Brands like Vince Camuto, Lord & Taylor, Ray-Ban, and many more!
Returns are VERY simple. Shipping is fast and the cost is minimal.

Dear erin,
Thank you for your blog and your utube videos. You are helping and inspiring me to know how to dress without looking ridiculous as I get older. I love your style and your personality. The pictures of your trip are gorgeous and you are blessed with a beautiful family. I just ordered the shirtdress in brown oak. I am glad you are showing clothing from Walmart as well as the upper end stores. I actually like Walmart for quite a few things. You work hard at your blog and videos… you can tell the hard work and care that you put into doing them. I hope you have a lovely resurrection Sunday!
Blessings, Shirlee Baker

Thank you so much for your info on everything. My question on the shirt dress is, what if you are tall and it goes to your thigh. Do you recommend a dress that is a bit longer not so revealing if you wear it alone?
Rhona
Yes..I would suggest a longer dress for sure. The Free People button up dress that I featured recently is quite long: https://rstyle.me/+fYybVFlUlvUJ_BRGDCKf8A
Super cute! I also like a shirtdress as a jacket layer, all the way unbuttoned. Gotta love versatility!
Thanks, Sarah!
