Summer Trend: Polka Dots
The polka dot trend has really been growing on me. It’s a fun and flirty way to change up our wardrobe this spring and summer. You can go with classic black and white, or try a fun color. How To Wear Polka Dots
The red polka dot skirt I’m wearing (above) is by Majorelle from Revolve. This skirt is so fun and playful! The tiered ruffle trim, asymmetrical hem, gorgeous color…just perfect! The scale of the print isn’t too overpowering. I love the color but if you want something more subtle, it comes in black and white and baby blue and white too.

How to Wear Prints
When I wear a print, I try to keep the rest of the look pretty neutral. If you want to make a statement and want to mix prints, I did a post on exactly how to do that here. But, in general, I think you should let the strong print stand alone. I’m wearing the skirt with this simple, white puff sleeve bodysuit. I finished it off with gorgeous white pumps, a gold, layered necklace, and some sunnies. The skirt is the real star of the look and that’s how you want to broach bolder pieces.
One note about polka dots, it’s a pretty subtle print so it’s a great way to go if you are a bit of a print-phobe like me. I also love stripes and dark florals.
