5 Pairs of Flat Shoes I’ll Be Reaching For All Spring & Summer

The second the snow is gone, I can’t get rid of my winter boots fast enough! (If you live in a cold climate you no doubt understand the feeling.)

So far, I’ve been grabbing the same few pairs on repeat. Mostly sneakers and flats since I still can’t wear heels following my double bunion surgery. 5 months and counting…

Turns out? You don’t need heels to look chic. Yay!

top 5 shoes for spring & summer

1. Slim Profile Sneakers

First up — slim profile sneakers, which are the real MVP of your wardrobe. There’s something about a sleek pair of sneaks that just feels fresh and modern for spring. They’re lightweight, breathable, and have this effortlessly cool, sporty-chic energy that works with so much more than you might think. Dresses, wide leg trousers, denim, linen sets… the list goes on.

My current obsession started with the Chloe Kick Low Top Sneaker — sleek, luxurious, and that quiet understated cool that only Chloe is known for. A splurge, yes — but one you’ll reach for on repeat for years. If you want that same polished energy without the price tag, the Veronica Beard Riviera Mesh Sneaker is absolutely stunning. And for the best budget friendly option that looks way more expensive than it is? The Marc Fisher Lexxy Mesh Sneaker is the one. Clean, sleek, and so easy to wear with everything. Love that these are mesh too (perfect for summer heat.)

2. Ballet Flats

Ballet flats, the shoes that look like they’ll be upped comfy, and yet finding a pair that is seems like a Herculean effort.

These Steve Madden Lucia Flats are absolutely stunning — those small gold studs and buckle details are so unexpectedly chic and elevate what could be a simple flat into something really special. Pair them with a tapered Jean or black trousers for a little unexpected edge.

And if you’re looking for something a little more classic and refined, the M. Gemi Una is simply gorgeous. Style them with a flowy midi dress, wide leg trousers, or your favorite denim and you have the most perfect spring outfit. No heels required.

3. Wedge Slingbacks

A sleek slingback is one of those shoes that just makes every outfit look, well, better.

And this Snakeskin Embossed pair by TOTEME? So unbelievably chic. The snakeskin embossing takes it to a whole other level — understated, luxurious, and very TOTEME. These have a tiny wedge (like one inch) so not technically a flat but still super comfy.

4. Loafers

Loafers are always a safe bet for spring. But I had to give a special moment to this slip-on pair by Steve Madden because they are something else entirely. Not only are they incredibly comfortable — and I mean practically feel like slippers comfortable — but they give you that same polished, designer loafer look at a fraction of the price. They come in multiple colors, the faux suede feels luxe, and the best part… you don’t have to break them in!

I feel like a modern day Carolyn Kennedy would wear these loafers in NYC. Btw, I just created a Carolyn-inspired capsule you can check out here if you are drawn to that simpler, minimalist style she is known for.

5. Simple Slide Sandals

Slide sandals — obvious choice, yes. But sometimes the obvious choice is obvious for a reason. A great slide is the easiest, most effortless thing you can put on your feet this spring, and lately I’ve been loving three in particular. The Deon Buckle Sandal for when I want something a little more elevated, the Steve Madden Mayven for that Birkenstock look, but elevated, and the Sam Edelman Bay Cutout Slide — a forever favorite that I come back to every single year. Classic, chic, and so incredibly wearable. Some things just never go out of style.

Put Your Best Foot Forward

Spring dressing is all about ease — and the right shoes make all the difference. Whether you’re a sneaker girl, a ballet flat lover, or a loafer loyalist, there’s something in this edit for everyone. Not a heel in sight — and I’m not mad about it.
