Don’t be afraid to wear plaid.
It’s really a great print, and usually full of beautiful, rich colors.

I know it’s challenging for many of you to wear, simply because it is inherently quite masculine.
Whenever I wear masculine or menswear pieces, I offset the masculinity with overt femininity…to create balance.
For example, with the look above, I braided my hair and put on a pair of sassy heels… both over-the-top feminine!

This plaid piece can be worn as a dress with knee high or ankle boots…
Or as a tunic over skinny jeans or leggings (how I’m wearing it).

I love the tie waist detail (meant to look like sleeves).
The sleeve detail has a very “Cool-girl-I-could-be-BFF’s-with-Marissa-Webb” vibe.
(Not sure who the heck Marissa Webb is, click here to read more about her.)

Btw, I bought this dress through my new favorite online store, Shoptiques.com.
It’s an amalgamation of the world’s best boutiques…with free shipping & returns!!
I’m obsessed.
