How To Wear Lace Up Boots

When you work from home most of the time, which I do now, it can be quite isolating.
I often feel like I’m walking down a path that is foggy and dark.
But, having these relationships helps so much because I no longer feel like I’m walking alone.
Blogging has been a thing for a while, but as a profession, it doesn’t get much street cred.
I spend a lot of time educating people about what I’m doing… and even I’m not 100% sure.
It is still unchartered territory.

So, every chance I get to meet up with my fellow bloggers… I’m all over it.
That’s why I drove to Dallas recently to meet up with this crew.

Introducing some Fashion Blogger Friends…

Heather Anderson is “Style by Fluent

She is the one I sometimes refer to as my blogger sister.
That’s because we are about the same size, height, and we both have blonde hair and blue eyes.
She’s a mean tennis player and sports glam 70’s babe looks like no one else.

Cathy Williamson is “The Middle Page

She always refers to being the “double nickel,” which cracks me up.
It’s also pretty amazing. I mean, would you ever think the woman is 55-years old?
What’s also amazing… she kicked cancer’s butt! She is a triple negative breast cancer survivor.

Tanya Foster is “Film+Fashion+Fun

Tanya was the first blogger I met from the big D.
She does film reviews, gives lots of beauty advice (like if you want to know about the latest and greatest in anti-aging, she’s your girl)
And, she’s super witty to boot!

Samantha Stewart is “Style Of Sam

She’s a part-time pharmacist, part-time fashion blogger.
She scores the BEST vintage pieces…and I’m in awe of her mad shopping skills.
She actually got a Celine bag at Last Call. How is that possible??

Now, onto my “Girl’s Night Out” look.
You might recall me talking about this before, but it’s worth repeating…if it’s uber trendy, don’t spend a lot.
These lace-up boots are the perfect example. I’ll probably only wear them a season or two (and they are limited in terms of versatility) …so I didn’t want to break the bank.

They are affordable at $49 +shipping . (I ordered half size up, which I almost always do with boots.)

I structured the look entirely around the boots. In my mind I wanted a high-low skirt.
I even ordered one, but it didn’t fit right.
I thought since the boots are pretty sexy, I should keep the rest of the look a little more classic and covered up.

The silver necklace is the real deal from TJ Maxx. I found a similar version by Robert Lee Morris from Lord & Taylor.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you SO much for stopping by!
