How To Get Ready In Less Than 10 Minutes

Here is a snapshot of my mornings. Wake up between 6:45 – 7:00am when the baby does, change diaper, get milk, wake up my son, Gage, get him dressed, make his lunch, set table for breakfast, make Gage’s breakfast (eggs and toast or pancakes), clean up breakfast mess, pack Gage’s school bag, get daughter breakfast. Whether I’m seeing a client or just taking my little guy to school at 8:15am, I usually have about ten minutes to get out myself ready to get out the door.  For real, TEN minutes! I have had many clients and friends ask me how I can manage this feat of looking somewhat cute in such a short time period. Well, today, I’m revealing my time-saving secrets!

BELOW IS ONE OF MY 10-MINUTE MORNING LOOKS (I spent more time on my son’s outfit!)

KEEP SCROLLING TO SEE THINGS YOU CAN BUY TO RECREATE THIS LOOK

1) SHOWER AT NIGHT

It’s a little thing, but it makes a big difference. There is no way I could shower in the AM, unless I got up earlier than everyone else and I would rather sleep as long as possible. I also do NOT blow dry my hair. My hair is so thick and it takes a long time to do, so I let it air dry at night. Sometimes bed head looks better than if you actually tried to do your hair.

2) ORGANIZATION IS KEY

You HAVE to know where everything is and it has to be out, easy to see and easy to grab. If you spend any time searching for other shoes or your black cami, you are not organized enough.

3) FORGET PERFECTION, GO FOR PRESENTABLE

The days of taking your time to apply make-up in the perfect way and really working on your hair…are long gone! You also do not have time to change three times (funny the things you miss.)

4) KNOW YOUR 5-MINUTE FACE

What do I mean by a five minute face? Well, know what you can do with make-up in five minutes to put your best face forward, literally. If you have dark circles, concealer is a must. Red, blotchy, skin? Foundation. No eyebrows (my issue), pencil them in. No lashes, mascara…

5) 1-MINUTE HAIR DO IDEAS

I have a specific brush that catches all the baby hair. It also makes hair look smooth and sleek. This is my go-to brush when I’m pulling my hair back in the AM. You can also wear a hat, like I’m doing in the picture. This may not work for the office, but certainly works for dropping kids off at school or running errands.
