Sephora Summer Must-Haves
Chlorine-filled pools, harmful sun rays, and the intense heat wave that is rolling across most of the country…these are just a few of the reasons why your skin and/or hair may not be cooperating this summer! All of these elements can wreak havoc on your beauty routine. I’ve been adding to cart more than usual in the beauty department. Since I live in Telluride where we don’t have easy access to major retailers, it’s super convenient for me to order my favorite items online. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Sephora summer must-haves that are effective and useful throughout the summer season and beyond…and a few things I’ve heard about recently and have my eye on!
In case you missed it, we break down our favorite clean beauty Sephora favorites here.
Summer Beauty – For Your Face
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
Sweltering temps, sweaty skin, and perfect makeup don’t naturally go hand in hand. If you want to set your makeup without melting, fading, or settling you’ll be impressed with this long-wearing setting spray. It works like a charm!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
Not everyone loves a full face of makeup in the summer. Especially when you already have a little sun-kissed color on your face. If you are looking to just keep your skin moisturized and even out your skin tone without a heavy foundation, you could go with a light, tinted moisturizer like this one from Laura Mercier. It’s a cult favorite that gives you super sheer coverage and it has SPF!
It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation
Now if you want just a bit more coverage than a tinted moisturizer and still need the benefits of SPF, this IT Cosmetics Lightweight foundation is a great option. It will give you more of a medium coverage with color correction AND it brightens skin and adds a little glow too which is especially nice for aging skin.
Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer
Summertime is the perfect time for a bronzy glow even if you are keeping your face out of the sun. This Tower 28 bronzer is so natural looking, blends easily, and is also buildable. You can put it just below your cheekbone sweeping up to the hairline and then areas that would naturally be touched by the sun…like the bridge of your nose and forehead. This is a clean product too. I’m slowly incorporating as many clean beauty products into my regimen as possible!
Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Balm
This is another clean product that is perfect for summer. If you struggle with dry lips but want a tinted lip balm that lasts, fresh Sugar Hydrating Lip balm comes in 15 shades that are sheer and buildable. This is another clean beauty product that’s a must-have for summer!
Summer Beauty – For Your Body
The Dry Brush
Dry brushing is known for being a key step in making sure your moisturizer is actually penetrating your skin…especially during the summer when you might have dry, flaking, or peeling skin due to sun exposure. The Dry Brush’s bristles are firm but still soft. You’ll exfoliate, increase cell renewal, and detox your skin and your moisturizers will work noticeably better!
Supergoop! Glow Sunscreen SPF 40
Sunscreen is a no-brainer in the summer, but it should actually be a part of your daily skincare regimen. Supergoop sunscreen is a Team Busbee favorite for many reasons! It’s not sticky, it’s hydrating, and it acts as a primer under your makeup. This Glow Sunscreen also has a luminous finish to give you a sun-kissed glow on both face and body. And, if all that wasn’t enough it even has Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide so it’s skincare and sunscreen all in one.
First Aid Beauty Anti-Chafe Stick With Shea Butter
This chafing stick is a summer lifesaver if you are active in the heat, playing any sports, running, walking, or if you are just experiencing night sweats or menopausal hot flashes (joy!). You just swipe it on the skin that gets irritated from sweat or friction and the shea butter adds a protective layer to soothe your skin.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Dream Body Cream
I’ve been using the Glow Recipe Watermelon Serum for some time now and when I saw the body cream, I was intrigued! It’s a clean, lightweight body cream with fruit extract that hydrates, smooths, and evens out skin tone. If your skin is looking dull or you have a sunburn that needs some attention, this soothing cream has Hyaluronic Acid, Watermelon Seed Butter, and is rich in vitamins.
Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops
Does anyone remember “laying out” as a teenager or twenty-something? For some of us, it was a sport to see how tan we could get! If you still want the look of a tan without spending hours at the pool or beach, these tanning drops are another Team Busbee favorite. They come in Light, Medium, and Dark and you just add a few drops to your regular moisturizer. It’s a customizable self-tanner for the face and body that is also clean!
Sol de Janeiro Glowmotions Glow Body Oil
Now if you just prefer to add some color to your skin but don’t want to commit to self-tanning, you could try something like this Sol de Janeiro Body Oil. It’s sweat and transfer resistant but comes off in the shower. I haven’t tried this yet, but it gets rave reviews!
Summer Beauty – For Your Hair
Detangling and Frizz Fighting Leave-In Conditioner
Summer can be rough on your hair…the chlorine from pools and pulling your hair up to escape the heat can lead to damage and breakage. I have dry hair so I’m always looking for some added moisture in the summer. This OUAI leave-in conditioner has seed oil which adds weightless hydration that helps combat frizz. I haven’t tried this one yet, but our Team Member Susan swears by it for dry hair that needs added moisture and frizz relief. She says it doesn’t weigh down your hair, it leaves it smooth and silky and it smells amazing. Adding to cart!
Nurtrafol Women’s Balance Hair Growth Supplements
There are so many great reviews about the Nutrafol supplements and women see great results! Nobody on Team Busbee has tried them yet but we had to share in case you’ve tried and love them or are looking to try them this summer.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is not only a way to make your blowout last longer, it’s actually healthier for you to NOT wash your hair every day so it can work wonders in between washes.
Drybar The Single Shot Blow-Dryer Brush
When you are blowing out your hair, this blow dryer brush by Drybar is perfect for taming frizzy, thick hair! It smooths and styles at the same time.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
I try to use a hair mask year-round about once a week because my hair tends to be dry in every season. This deep conditioner does the trick! It makes my hair silky and soft and I’ve noticed less breakage too. You just massage it into your hair, leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse. If you have super fine hair, it can be a little heavy so if you can, get a sample to try first.
Sephora Wet Brush Luxew Quick Dry
Did you know that your hair is most prone to damage when it’s wet? Out of the shower, you want to be gentle/careful with your wet hair, and be sure to use a wet brush or wide-toothed comb to minimize breakage. This one is specifically designed for detangling wet hair and it’s only $19.
