8 Super Stylish & Comfortable Summer Outfit Ideas & What I’ve Been Wearing!

Comfortable Summer Outfits

We’ve gotten a lot of requests lately to share more of my everyday outfits and what I wear on a day-to-day basis. The truth is, sometimes I’m just hanging out and working in loungewear looks. But in this post and the corresponding video, I’m sharing a few outfits I’ve worn this week to help give you some inspiration the next time you get dressed!

Comfortable Summer Outfits

Outfit #1) Errands

This first outfit has been my go-to summer uniform. I wore this to run a few errands to the grocery store and post office but you could dress it up even more for dinner too. I’m wearing a striped button-down shirt by LNA. I love the button details at the sleeves and tie waist that makes it more of a basic-with-a-twist. You can tuck the top in or tie it up and leave it untucked for a bubble hem look. It’s a thicker cotton but it’s still lightweight and breathable. Plus, the thicker cotton makes it easier to pop the collar, which I like to do to add a little edge and make it look more intentional.

I styled the top with an older pair of white Alice + Olivia jeans but you could wear your favorite pair of white jeans. I love that these have a frayed hem, on-trend wide leg, and faux pockets for a streamlined look. Then, I completed the look with this cool Ulla Johnson bucket bag and a pair of sandals. I love the leather and straw combo for summer and the color is super versatile. Bucket bags are so easy for throwing in your essentials and being out the door in seconds. This one is really easy to get things in and out of too.

Lunch Date outfit idea

Outfit #2) Lunch Date

This next look is something I recently wore to lunch. I’m wearing a pair of parachute-like cargo pants that are really cool, oversized, and have an elastic waistband that makes them super comfy. My black tank has an edgy cutout at the neckline that makes the look feel even more modern. I brought a blazer to throw on over my shoulders in case it got chilly. On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of Dior slingback pumps. I don’t normally wear heels to lunch (especially in Telluride) but I was in the mood to wear them and I loved how they looked with the pants!

By the way, I shared this tank and a few other ways to wear it in our Travel Capsule here.

Dinner With Friends outfit

Outfit #3) Dinner With Friends

I wore this outfit to a friend’s house for dinner! In Telluride, it gets pretty chilly at night so I can get away with jeans and a long-sleeve top. But if you live in a hot climate, swap the jeans for shorts or the long sleeve top for a short sleeve top. I’m wearing a pair of white wide-leg jeans by Mother, some Stuart Weitzman wedges, and a chic Free People blouse. I love this top because of the pretty but subtle floral print, flattering v-neckline, perfect cropped length, and puffy sleeves. It’s also very breathable!

By the way, if you’re looking for more ways to wear your white jeans, make sure you check out this post next!

Outfit #4) Dinner With the Family

I wore this outfit to dinner with the family and knew we’d be sitting outside so I wanted to be cool. I’m wearing an Agolde denim skirt that has a great fit and a flattering pointed hemline. I paired it with an Alice + Olivia top that’s SO pretty! I love the bright blue and the print isn’t too over the top. It’s super lightweight, has smocked sleeves so you can push them up and they stay put, and it’s the perfect length for wearing tucked in or leaving it out. On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of super comfy Vince mules that have a manageable heel that’s easy to walk in.

farm rio printed midi dress

Outfit #5) Dinner Date

You may remember this dress from this post where we featured 15 night-out outfits. What I love about this dress is the beautiful colors, accessibility, and fit. Even though the colors are quite bright and bold, the structure and fit of the dress make it feel more casual and wearable. It has adjustable tied shoulder straps, a band at the natural waist that’s very flattering for most women, and a casual, flowy midi skirt. I brought a white blazer by Cinq a Sept along in case I got cold but you could make it even more casual with a little cardigan. Then I completed the look with some comfy wedges.

Outdoor Concert outfit

Outfit #6) Outdoor Concert

We went to an outdoor concert one night and I wanted to wear something that had a Western feel. I threw on this gorgeous little white dress by Sezane and some wester-inspired boots by Paris Texas. I love the eyelet detailing, ruffles, and flounce hem on this dress! Unfortunately, it’s sold out, but I linked a similar option below. I completed the look with a brown See by Chloe handbag and my go-to gold jewelry.

Outfit #7) Ice Cream with the Family

What better way to spend a beautiful night than to treat yourself and the family to some ice cream, right?! This is what I wore when we headed into town for a family ice cream trip…it was about 65 degrees, so I brought this cute lemon yellow sweater by Maje for when it got cooler. I’m wearing a blue Frame blouse that’s also a beautiful color paired with some white Mother wide-leg jeans. I completed the look with some Dolce Vita sneakers that are an amazing dupe for the Chloe sneakers I always wear.

Outfit #8) Workout Session

This is one of my favorite workout sets because it’s really soft. It’s not typical activewear material…it feels more like cotton! The pants come up really, really high which I love! And the racing strip down the side is very flattering. The matching top is super cute but it does run small, so I suggest sizing up one size. I loved this set so much that I bought it in two colors!

    Hi Erin,
Love your fashion inspo and ideas. I need your help finding the perfect midi/maxi denim skirt. It turns out to be quite challenging. I am
5’ 4”, size 4, size 27 in denim. I’ve ordered 3 skirts. I like the skirts that have a slit in the front as I feel this doesn’t overwhelm my frame. I ordered from Anthropology the Pilcro Madi Front slit skirt in 6P (this skirt has a very tiny waist), and the Reformation Tazz Denim Skirt (size 26 fit). I also ordered the Frame Midaxi skirt in size 27. These skirts tend to not have stretch and I’ve decided I will have to have one of these skirts altetered. I would love your feedback on this trend and if you have found the perfect skirt. Also tips on styling would be great as I think this skirt would work for all seasons. Can’t wait to hear what you find!
    Thanks fashion Goddess!

Thanks so much for reaching out, Janine! The longer denim skirt trend isn’t one that I’m feeling personally drawn to (yet at least…that might change though!!). But… multiple team members have been looking for the perfect midi/maxi length denim skirt for quite some time now! It’s really not an easy task, especially because most are the non-stretch denim like you have mentioned. That being said, here’s our list of favorites that we’re coming across and/or trying out very soon. I hope this helps on your search, and if you do find the perfect one – please let us know! ~Erin xo
