Luxe Faux Fur Jacket
Frame Faux Fur Jacket
Let’s start with the luxe option. Erin is wearing a faux fur jacket by Frame in a rich and gorgeous chocolate brown. If you haven’t noticed already, there is a TON of brown clothing options out there right now. It’s one of those classic, neutral colors that’s always in style and SO versatile. We love how easy brown is to wear and how flattering it is on most skin tones…a great option for those who feel black looks too harsh or severe on you. This jacket has an oversized fit, zip-up front, pockets, large lapels, and a cropped silhouette. You can wear it with everything from jeans to dresses. Erin styled it here with an elevated white button-down, jeans, and some tall brown boots.

Affordable Faux Fur Jacket
Blank NYC Cropped Faux Fur Jacket
And now…our affordable option! In the photos above, Erin is wearing a yummy brown faux fur cropped jacket by Blank NYC. We’d call this more of a “milk” chocolate color. It is incredibly soft and cozy, a bit less oversized than the Frame jacket, has pockets, and is fully lined. It has an open-front placket so no zippers, snaps, or buttons. The faux fur is very fluffy, and it has a really modern vibe. Erin purchased this Blank NYC jacket back in 2020 and it’s still very on-trend and wearable now, proving it’s a piece that will stand the test of time. Plus, it’s just under $100 and the quality is AMAZING. You can see more photos of Erin wearing this super chic jacket in this post.
Brown is such a beautiful and versatile neutral shade that you can wear with anything…including black, white, cream, or gray. But you can also wear brown with bright colors like red and yellow or softer ones like pink or blue. If you already have a brown jacket, it also comes in black. For a more dramatic look, there’s a similar version of this jacket with a slightly larger lapel that comes in cream and violet purple.
How To Style A Brown Faux Fur Jacket
OK, so how do style a jacket like this? In the photos above, Erin styled both her Frame and Blank NYC faux fur jackets with jeans, a white top or sweater, and boots. Here are some other fun ways to style your faux fur jacket…
- All Black – Black pants or jeans, a turtleneck sweater, and black booties. Add the jacket and viola! Instant glam.
- All White – Erin loves to shake things up in the winter and wear white or cream denim and booties. This jacket would be the perfect topper for an all-white or cream head-to-toe look.
- With a Slip Dress – The juxtaposition between the heavy fur and the silky material is cool and edgy. You can see how @MelissaMeyers, one of our Busbee Style contributors, styles her faux fur jacket and slip dress here.
- Over a Dress – A maxi, midi, mini, knit, or sweater dress would look so chic underneath a faux fur jacket!
- With Some Leather – Wear a white t-shirt, faux leather pants or coated jeans and some black heels or booties for a cool juxtaposition of textures this fall.
- With a Skirt – A pencil skirt, denim skirt, or pleated skirt paired with your favorite white button-down would make an unexpected fall look.
- With Your Fall Uniform – Faux fur jackets are so easy to style that all you really have to do is add it to your go-to fall outfit formula for a glammed-up look. Wear baggy trousers or jeans, a comfy tee, and your favorite platform sneakers…easy peasy!
Style Tips For Faux Fur Jackets
When pulling together ways to wear your faux fur jacket, here are a few tips to keep in mind…
- Since the jacket will add some bulk, you’ll want to avoid wearing super oversized pieces underneath unless you are wanting an all-over oversized look. Some fashionistas can certainly pull that off!
- Let the jacket do its thing! If you aren’t sure about wearing one, keep the rest of your outfit neutral and quiet and let the jacket shine.
- Wear it with confidence. If you typically wear a leather jacket or puffer, shakes things up!
- A cropped jacket will provide instant waist-definition. Remember, you can wear longer sweaters, tops, and shirts underneath, just keep the line long and lean. We’d avoid bubble hems, really blousy blouses, and oversized tops.

Is Erin wearing skinny jeans to be able to wear knee high boots she has on in pics?
I realized getting dressed this morning I bought brown and black knee high boots last fall and with the change in jeans trends, I’ve yet to wear either pair even once the last 12 months! I wear my many different style pairs of booties depending on style of outfit and jeans I have on. Pumps and knee high boots used to be winter go tos with outfits for years
Hi Christine! Yes, skinny jeans are a must for our taller boots. I keep my favorites in the rotation for fall/winter boots. Booties allow us to wear just about any style of jean though! Hope you pull those brown and black knee high boots back out as the temps cool down! ~Team Busbee
