You’ve been seeing new faces and hearing new voices on the site since December and you may be wondering…who are these amazing women!? Our new team of writers are incredible, witty, and inspiring. In an effort to get you to know them a little better, we’re continuing our Meet The Writers series so you can learn more about these beautiful women offering up their expertise on the site. Today…we’re introducing our fabulous Lifestyle aficionado, Amit! We LOVE her expert advice and tips on travel, parenting, relationships, money, and more. We’re so happy to have Amit, and her quick wit, on board!

All About Amit

We searched high and low for the right person to bring us LIFE in a nutshell with a large dose of sisterly advice laced with some much-appreciated humor. Amit checked every box, filled every square…and then some! Although raised in Florida, she’s still quite proud to tell people she originates from New York…she says it’s a Brooklyn thing! We love her no-nonsense approach and how she breaks down ALL the things for us women… from how to spice up our relationships to how to talk to teens about sex! Yup, all of it. Her name, pronounced [Ah-meet], means “friend” in Hebrew, which could not be more fitting.

Amit has over 20 years of experience in graphic design and writing, and was the founder of  Miami-based publication, Aventura Magazine. Currently, in addition to being a writer for our site, she works as a freelancer producing graphic design, product photography and editorial. Amit has a passion for making an impact on people’s lives, which we get to experience firsthand! She’s an active member of her community serving on the City of Aventura Police Department Community Advisory Panel and is currently running for city office. Amit is a breast cancer survivor which has taught her that life is too short not to follow your dreams, and that everything she truly wanted was on the other side of fear.

Amit came across my YouTube channel in 2018 and says she’s never once missed an episode since. I love that! A true shopping fan, when not hitting the retail scene, she appreciates the simple pleasure of restaurant hopping, sharing good food with close friends, and traveling. Finally, she says the loves of her life are her husband and their two fiercely independent and creative kids. But, she’ll tell you her favorite child is her sweet pup, Zac. And, he loves to chime in during our Zoom calls!
