The BUSBEE Team Is Freaking Out Over These 8 Amazing Beauty Finds for Women Over 40
These are just a sampling of the blushers I tried!
I spent the better part of June road-testing drugstore sunscreens. July was coined ‘blusher of the month’ by our neighborhood UPS driver who noticed the near-daily Sephora deliveries. And August…well, let’s just say that ‘dewy skin tint’ is now a verb in the Harris household. (Stay tuned for an upcoming post all about the skin tints I’m loving!) But lest you think the summer of 2021 was strictly devoted to my search for perfect products, think again. Because I am not alone, ladies. I’ll venture to say that the entire BUSBEE team dipped their pedicured toes into the beauty pool and found a few new favorites this summer. In fact, the ladies are losing their collective minds over these amazing beauty finds. And as any woman over 40 knows, sharing is indeed caring…
So, here are our absolute favorites! Please share some of your new discoveries in the comments section below. Sometimes, it takes a village to look gorgeous! I’ve been wearing blusher since I was 14 years old, and I always assumed that fading or smearing was part of the deal. So, when a make-up artist set me straight and told me about the powers of MAKEUP BY MARIO Soft Pop Blush Stick in Dusty Rose, I had to give it a try. This stuff is beautiful! Goes on easily with a creamy - not too light, but not too heavy - texture and finish. The pigment packs a punch, doesn’t fade or change colors and lasts all day! Honestly, it’s the best blusher I’ve ever worn. (Bonus points for the brush applicator.)
I am loving the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mascara!! It is buildable for full, lush lashes. It also separates beautifully and is a cinch to remove…coming off in tiny tubes. It’s a perfect everyday mascara!
I have a new favorite product!! It's the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Full Coverage Concealer. I LOVE it. It is the first concealer that doesn't settle into my fine line/wrinkles, even after wearing it for 12+ hours! It blows all other concealers out of the water.
There are so many great new discoveries! But my absolute number one pick is Christian Dior Backstage Powder ‘No Powder’. I have dry skin, so most powders look terrible on me. But this product from Dior is excellent. It blurs without drying. I love the finish on my skin. (I also love the same concealer as Joy. It’s really hydrating and wears well on my dry wrinkled under eyes!)
Tula's Blurring & Moisturizing Primer is magic. I have dry skin and it keeps my foundation in place all day. It’s also great on its own for non-foundation days. It blurs my sunspots and evens out my skin tone. I also just bought Joy’s concealer (noticing a pattern?) and I agree, it's incredible!
I have a lot of hair, but it is pretty fine and falls flat very easily. So, I was really happy to discover Prose Shampoo & Conditioner. This set is customized to my specific hair needs. I’ve actually seen an improvement in my hair's body and strength. A true winner this summer!
Meet Francine, our self-described skin care and beauty junkie. As a 40-something Southern California native, Francine is a firm believer in the power of sunscreen and a gorgeous nude lip. She’s an AKT Fitness owner and hi-tech marketing communications consultant by day and mom to three high-energy, testosterone-driven boys by night (hence her preference for red wine with an ice cream chaser).
