When you find something you love, do you buy it in every color, style or version you can get your hot little hands on? Erin rarely buys multiples. For someone who tries different looks, styles, cuts, and fits for a living, and has a LOT of clothing, it just doesn’t often make sense. But every now and again, a piece crosses her radar that’s just TOO good not to buy more than once. Or shall we say….four times! THAT is the case with the Staud Wells Dress. It’s the best all-occasion, wear it everywhere dress and it reigns so supreme it’s worthy of its very own post. Let’s get into this unicorn of a dress, why it’s so special, and why Erin has said she kinda wants to buy more!

Best All-Occasion Dress
Staud Wells Midi Dress
Erin’s most recent Staud Wells dress purchase is this chic black midi she brought along on her recent trip to Italy. By the way, if you’re interested, you can read more about that trip and what she packed here. Because it was pretty warm during the day and she had to pack for both casual days and dressy evening dinners, this versatile dress was a slam dunk.
Flattering Fit
The scoop square neckline is flattering and bra-friendly (big win!). Because it has a fit and flare silhouette, the dress creates that coveted hourglass figure. It nips in just above your natural waistline and the pleated skirt floats away from the body. The midi-length skirt is great for petite, average, and tall women. Erin is 5’4” and the skirt hit a few inches above her ankle…great for showing off a statement shoe! The back of the dress also has a scoop and a hidden zipper. It’s made from a mid-weight stretch cotton so this dress will easily transition right into fall. You could always layer a blazer, denim jacket, or leather jacket over the top.
How To Style
Erin styled the dress with a cool and comfortable pair of Valentino wedge sneakers, a Prada belt bag, minimal jewelry, a hat, and sunnies for a day of exploring Positano. But where else could you wear it? With a few dressy accessory swaps, you could easily wear it to a wedding, a baby or bridal shower, out to dinner, or to an event. You could also pair it with sneakers or sandals for a casual brunch, a day of shopping, or just when you want to feel and look your best.

Staud Wells Mini Dress
In addition to the midi-length Staud Wells dress, Erin also brought the mini-length version to Italy in this pretty blue toile print. It has all the same features as the longer dress, but the hem length comes to just above the knee. Erin styled it with the same Valentino sneakers and white accessories including a Valentino bag and belt, and some white sunglasses. To dress it up for dinner, you could throw on a pair of wedges, sandals, or heels. This exact dress is super limited in sizing, but we’ll link a few other solid options below and a few midi-length dresses in the same print. These dresses are SO incredibly popular and sell out quickly. So, if you see your size in a style or print you love, grab it before it’s gone!

The other two versions Erin has of this same dress are both the midi length…we told you she loved it! The green toile print is unfortunately also very limited in sizing, but it does come in a few other pretty prints. In this look, Erin styled the dress with a pair of sky-high platform heels so you can see how it can look elevated enough for a wedding or event.

Staud Ahoy Dress
But wait, there’s more ? We just had to show you another style of dress by Staud. This Ahoy dress is another that Erin packed for her trip to Italy. It’s SO chic. We love the halter neckline and dramatic bow at the back. The navy and white have a very nautical feel, making it perfect for a summer or vacation. This is one of those dresses that can serve so many purposes. Style it with sneakers for a busy day on the go or with heels for dinner.
