Swim coverups are an essential piece if you plan to spend any time on a beach, lake or pool. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to walk around slightly covered. And, if I take the time to find the perfect suit, I want an equally chic cover-up that also complements the suit. You can go the traditional route or kind of create your own cover-up. You’ll see a mix of both below.

Cover-Up Pants
These Onzie pants are among my favorites as they are super comfortable and chic. They do run small in the waist, so if you are between sizes, go UP. These look like really chic pants, but feel like sweats. Think cover-up pants that go from the beach to lunch. I also wore these while traveling. The bandeau is also quite chic, and will help eliminate any weird tan lines.

Romper Cover-Up
This cotton romper is SO cute, and it’s a cinch to throw on over a suit! This is another great option when you want to make sure you have something chic enough to transition easily from the beach to lunch or dinner. Add a hat to cover-up beach hair, and grab your black and white, Henri Bendel tote to complete the look! This is an effortlessly chic option!

Black Kimono Cover-Up
This lace kimono-style cover-up (above) is the one you grab when you don’t have time for anything fussy. You can simply put this on like a button down shirt and leave it open, or tie the front for more coverage. It comes in two colors, both black and white and it’s affordable. It’s also paper thin cotton and will dry in minutes.
I also wanted to share my Vix bikini. I’ve been wearing Vix bikinis for years! I can always count on the line to have unique design details or patterns that make a bikini a little extra special. I always size up on these and order size medium.

White Caftan Cover-Up
Very similar to the black kimono-style cover-up above is this white caftan cover-up by Michael Stars. It is also made out of paper thin cotton to keep you cool and dry. It also is easy to get on and off and incredibly chic!

Maxi Dress Cover-Up
Perhaps my all-time favorite swim cover-up… definitely winning my mental, “Most Chic” award…is this maxi dress, cover-up by Elan. I love it so much I just ordered a striped version too! It runs long, so if you are tall, it’ll be great. If you are petite like me, you can always wash in cold and lay flat to dry. It will shrink slightly in the wash.

Palm Print Cover-Up
Another VERY chic and comfortable option is this palm print, breezy cover-up that I’ve worn a bunch! It’s not something I would have picked out if I saw it online, but once I tried it on, I knew it was a keeper! Palm print is one of the trendiest prints of the season.
