Those of you who are long-time readers know that I fully understand COLD. I grew up in upstate New York where bitter cold and snow are around sometimes 8 or more months of the year. I’ve also lived in Rochester, NY, New York City and now, Telluride, Colorado, where single digits are the norm. You get the point, I know cold.
So… trust me when I say, I’m not going to steer you wrong in the coat/jacket department. 😉
#1 | Canada Goose Parka
You know who also knows cold…? Canadians! So, no surprise that one of the gold standards for warm coats comes from the Canadian company, Canada Goose. Their coats are meant to withstand temps as low as -30 degrees!
I love this red parka…

#2 | Herno Puffers & Jackets
Herno is a go-to for Telluride locals like Kristin Holbrook who co-owns the boutique Two Skirts. The brand is known for combining luxury with high-end performance materials like cashmere with down.

#3 | Blanc Noir
For the sporty ladies, you will LOVE Blanc Noir!! They create coats and jackets that seamlessly transition from the gym or working out to the street. I wear my chic athleisure, Blanc Noir mesh puffer jacket ALL THE TIME (on days it’s not too chilly). It’s lightweight and breathable, but still keeps you really warm.

#4 | BlankNYC
No one does modern, affordable and functional jackets like BlankNYC! Their moto jackets and faux fur jackets are incredibly stylish and fashion forward while also keeping you warm. My favorite at the moment is this cropped, faux fur jacket in a gorgeous brown tone. I wear it often with jeans and a light sweater when I want to feel glam, but also stay warm.

#5 | Ralph Lauren Wrap Coat
Let’s be real, wool coats are warm, but definitely not the warmest. I LOVE how chic they are, though… so to ensure maximum warmth, simply layer a lightweight puffers like this one by Patagonia under your wool coat. This Ralph Lauren camel coat comes with a removable faux fur collar. I think the belted waist is very elegant and creates shape which is key to keeping your shape when bundled up.

BONUS | Veronica Beard Scuba Blazer
It would be a crime against humanity if I didn’t mention 2 of my favorite blazers that are BOTH on sale at Nordstrom right now. First, the Veronica Beard scuba blazer, which never goes on sale! I mean… better JUMP on this one. You can swap out the dickeys which totally changes the look of the blazer. The second blazer I am LOVING is the Theory faux leather blazer. Make sure you size up. It’s so chic and flattering. You will wear it all winter and well into spring.
BTW, if you are wondering about the warmest winter boots… BY FAR Sorel wins! (Another Canadian company). I also love La Canadienne, and Aquatalia.

Nordstrom is my absolute GO-TO for so many things including all of my winter gear. I love the simple, fast shipping and free returns. Nordstrom’s selection is unparalleled especially when it comes to shoes and boots. I might consider gifting yourself a high-quality, super warm coat this year!
