Do This One Thing To Instantly Elevate Your Favorite Jeans!

How To Elevate Your Denim

Hello, ladies! I hope all of you are doing well! Here I am back on Busbee Style to share one of my favorite style tips, which would be adding a third layer. I wear jeans most of the time, and my favorite way to elevate a casual look is to add a third layer, and my favorite is a blazer. A blazer, in my opinion, is a quintessential piece every woman should have in her closet. There are different styles of blazers, from double-breasted to self-tied, and whatever your style is, a blazer will take your look to a new level by pairing it with so many different pieces.

Add A Third Layer

A blazer is a perfect piece to add to a denim look. Wear it over tees, button-downs, or sweaters. When you add a blazer to this combo, you can wear this look almost anywhere (maybe depending on your shoes). I wear this look during the day with sneakers but will add a heel for dinner out. It always works! And it doesn’t matter which blazer style because they all work with this combo. I also love to wear a blazer over a dress, trousers, skirt, or trackpant.

Blazers At Every Price Point

By this stage of the game, most of us have blazers in our closets. If I had to choose one blazer, it would definitely be a black single-breasted one. I am a blazer collector and have different styles and colors of blazers. My new favorite is the double-breasted tweed one I am wearing in these photos. I love the metallic threads and beautiful buttons that make my jeans and striped shirt look significantly “extra.”

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on blazers. I have found great ones from H&M, Banana Republic, Zara, and Target! So many of my favorites have come from Zara!

I hope you have a great day! Thank you for letting me come into your homes today!

Stay safe and Be well! xx

I love that look with boot-cut jeans and platform shoes. I have a question, I have a pair of Mother boot cut jeans and they hit the floor when I wear with flats, but if I want to wear boots with higher heel, I’m not sure if it looks right, because the jeans end in the “air” (not like where the platform supports the hemline). How to determine that length is correct to your shoes?

    Thank you!

The general rule of thumb for full-length wide-leg or boot-cut jeans is for the hemline to fall just 1/2″ or so above the ground. If your pants are shorter than this you will either have to wear them with a lower heel or purchase a pair with a slightly longer inseam. I generally pair my heels or heeled boots with a 32-34″ inseam. I hope that helps, Eija! ~Erin xo
