Sometimes I wonder if I’ve been living under a rock. There are all these innovative products that I discover and think where have you been? Take for example the Vanishing Back Bra by Soma Intimates. Vanishing Back Bra
It’s harder to see from the back view, but you can CLEARLY see from the side view (above) that there is skin overhang with the regular bra (left), and nothing with the Soma bra (right). The Soma Intimates strap design is different. The regular bra practically scoops up my skin and puts it on display, while the Soma bra smooths it all out. The Vanishing Back bra is also really comfortable and soft. It runs true to size. It’s worth noting that these bras are the same size and I’m posing in the same way.

Bra Basics
Nude Bra
In addition to the type of bra you buy, you should also consider the colors. I’ve talked about the importance of wardrobe basics quite a bit. Those basics should include undergarments. Black Bra
You should also own a comfortable black bra that is smooth enough under clothing that you can wear it daily. Additionally, I would recommend having both nude and black strapless bras.
Visible Panty Lines
Now, let’s address panties, specifically visible panty lines. It’s one of those things that happens to the best of us. You are rushing out the door, and you forget to check your backside. Inevitably, there will be a moment when your panties show through your pants, dress, or skirt. And, even if you DO check, you might not have time to change. Hey, that’s what tunics are for, right?
The traditional solution to this problem has always been thong underwear. Thongs were invented by some sadistic person who is laughing all the way to the bank. Clearly, I’m not a fan and I’m sure a LOT of you feel the same way. Cause who wants something riding up their butt crack? (BTW, I looked up who invented the thong, and it is a former NYC mayor (male) who designed them for nude dancers! How hilarious is that? Makes perfect sense.)
Vanishing Edge Panties
I wasn’t sure it was possible to have full coverage panties that do not show…but it IS! The Vanishing Edge Panties by Soma Intimates are genius! Not only are these panties invisible under your clothes, they also stay put. There is a tiny bit of silicone on the edges that hold the undies in place! Check out the before and after photo above. On the left, I am wearing regular bikini underwear, and on the right the Soma Vanishing Edge pair. Please excuse the tight yoga pants, but I thought these would be the best way to test the panties vanishing power!

Hi Erin! Thank you so very much for all the wonderful informative videos and blogs. I have a question on the bras. You mention we should have strapless as well. Do you have a tried and true one you like? One that doesn’t ride down, doesn’t push the boobs so far out that it makes the dress look weird or too revealing or any more insight on this? I am a 34 DDD and I do not like bras with padding as I have enough in that area! Lol Can you help with any strappless bra suggestions? Thank you Erin. 🙂

They still feel so much less comfortable than my regular bras. Ugh. I feel like it’s just one of those things that will always be a little uncomfortable. Kind of like heels.
Can you buy these bras and panties in a store or is it only on line? I know the bra I’m wearing is not the right size so unsure how to order.
