BusbeeHOME: Bookshelves & Storage For Kids

I was desperate for extra storage in Elizabeth’s room.

There is nothing that drives me crazier than toys spilling out everywhere. And, stuffed animals… the freakin’ stuffed animals…there must be 100!

I looked at many wall storage units, but honestly they are such a big piece of furniture, it felt like too much of a commitment. Not to mention the prices range between $1200 to $2000.

When it comes to shopping for furniture, I don’t mess around. I look everywhere I can think of…in this case… Ballard Designs, Home Decorator’s Collection, Birch Lane, Restoration Hardware, One King’s Lane, Joss & Main, Target, IKEA… and in terms of quality for the price… this bookshelf from Pottery Barn, PBKids, was the best BY FAR.

The assembly took me an hour and a half. It should have taken an hour, but I made one major mistake by screwing in the shelves on the wrong side. (for sure a 30 minute setback).

Before I moved the shelves into her room, I disassembled her crib. (SAD, no more crib!) But, somewhat liberating too…

Then, I purged toys. I would say about 3 huge garbage bags full. We are definitely down to 75 stuffed animals now. 😉

Anyway, I would highly recommend these shelves. They look great, feel very sturdy and I think will grow with her easily.
