FIND A CONSIGNMENT STORE
Consigning your clothes, accessories or furniture is really a very simple process.
The first step, find a great consignment store. One of my favorites in San Antonio is “Too Good To Be Threw.”
Owner Linda Reams has spent the last thirty years perfecting her consignment businesses.
She has three stores.
1) The Blanco Road and 1604 location… is filled with both furniture and clothing. 15,000 square feet of it, to be exact!

PICK UP OR DROP OFF
CLOTHING/ACCESSORIES: If you have many high end designer goods, think Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, “Too Good To Be Threw” offers a courtesy, concierge consignment service. They will pick up the items at your door.
Once you bring your pieces into the store or arrange to have them picked up at your house for a small fee, you’ll spend about ten minutes going through everything with a consignment store staffer… who will quickly decide which of your items they think they can sell.
PROFIT
Next, you sit back and let the store do the rest. They will set the price, display everything and cut you a check for up to 50% or half of everything that sells.
SHELF LIFE
Your items do have a shelf life of 3 months. If something doesn’t sell in that time frame, the items will be donated or returned to you.
CONSIGNING FURNITURE
The process is very similar when it comes to your furniture and home accessories.

“Too Good To Be Threw” Furniture Consigning Criteria

PICK UP OR DROP OFF
FURNITURE/HOME DECOR: You can bring the pieces in yourself or arrange for the store to pick them up in your home for a small fee. They actually have a moving truck and professional movers at the store… so they can pick up your furniture. You don’t even have to pay for the service upfront, “Too Good To Be Threw” can deduct the fee from your account.
HOW DO I TO GET STARTED?
The easiest way to call the store, 210-340-2422. A consignment store staffer will contact you and suggest the next steps.
So the next time you are cleaning out a closet or moving into a new house and you’re not sure what to do with all of your stuff… consider consignment! It’s a very easy process… that can help you earn some extra money.
