Below, I’m sharing a fun roundup of 10 cute crochet tops you’ll love and wear again and again this summer…

Velvet Open Knit Pullover
The first crochet piece is a beautiful open-knit pullover by Velvet. It’s pretty lightweight so you should be able to wear it during spring and summer, but depending on the climate where you live, it might be a little too heavy for summer (sorry, Texas ladies!). We love the length of the sleeves, trendy preppy collar, open knit fabric, and ribbed hem. This would be a wonderful piece to take on vacation or wear with denim for pretty much any casual occasion you have. It runs true to size.
#1) Aqua Crochet Scallop Crop Top
Crochet tanks and crop tops are very big this summer. We’ll talk a little more about crochet tanks below, but for crop tops, all you have to do is style them with a pair of high-rise bottoms and you’re ready to go. This cropped crochet top by Aqua is a great price point, covers your arms, and will still keep you cool. It’s one of those easy crochet tops you can throw on and dress up or down. We love the scalloped hem and feminine crochet pattern. And it’s lined so you don’t have to worry about the see-through factor.
#2) Abercrombie Crochet-Style Mosaic Tile Polo
How pretty is the mosaic pattern on this crochet top from Abercrombie?? We love the design, scalloped hem, and that it has sleeves! You can wear it buttoned up OR unbuttoned with a cute tee or tank underneath. Pair it with some jeans and sneakers for a casual day running errands, shopping, or a quick lunch.
#3) Ollari Dori Ruffle-Sleeve Crochet Top
This might be our favorite crochet summer top on the list! The feminine flutter sleeves are a pretty detail, the design of the crocheting is beautiful, and the back of the top looks like a regular cotton tee with a keyhole closure. It also comes in regular, petite, and plus sizing. Style it with some cute shorts, a skirt, pants, or denim…this will be a super versatile top this summer. And it’s only $98!
#4) Frame Tape Yarn Sweater Vest
We mentioned crochet tanks being very “in” this summer, and while some of you may shy away from them because you don’t like to show your arms, they’re actually a wonderful layering piece you can add to your closet. You can wear it under a cute jacket or even over a button-down. There are tons of neutral options out there, but we wanted to show you some more fun options too. This Frame tank is the prettiest lilac color for summer. It has a larger open-knit so you’ll need to wear an undershirt or cute bralette underneath. But this is one of those elevated basics you’ll wear with everything from skirts to pants to denim.
#5) Ganni Crochet Vest
Another big trend this summer is crochet tank tops with funky patterns. While we were searching for the best of the best, we found that it can be tricky to find crochet tank top patterns that are just right. There are tons of options out including 70’s-inspired patterns, psychedelic patterns, floral patterns, geometric patterns, neon patterns, etc. The key to finding the perfect printed crochet tank for YOU is to choose one that you absolutely love in a flattering print and color scheme. This Ganni crocheted top has a more muted color scheme, which will be much more wearable with other pieces you have in your closet. We love the high-low hem on this top…you can easily wear it with high-rise bottoms if you’re worried about the cropped length. The material is 100% cotton and super lightweight so you won’t get hot.
#6) Design History Crochet Geometric Short-Sleeve Cardigan
Geometric crochet patterns can look really cool, and we love this neutral, blue, and green option for Design History. You can wear this cardigan open with a cute tank or tee underneath or closed. It has a flattering v-neckline, subtle puff sleeves, and it’s 100% cotton so you’ll stay cool. It’s a great price point if you want to try the colorful crochet look without breaking the bank!
#7) Rails Penelope Open Stitch Sweater
Next up is this pretty striped crochet top by Rails. We love this brand because they make stylish pieces in high-quality fabrics that stand the test of time. This sweater has frilly sleeves, a classic striped pattern, and ribbed trim. The floral crocheted band at the bust is beautiful but if you have a large bust or are an inverted triangle body shape, this is one to avoid as the stripes and band will make your upper half look larger.
By the way, if you need suggestions on flattering tops for big busts, make sure you check out this post next!
#8) Line & Dot Baja Crochet Top
The next two crochet tops are some gorgeous standout pieces. You can wear them for date night, girl’s night out, on vacation, or whenever you feel like adding a little extra oomph this summer! First up is this asymmetrical top by Line & Dot. The asymmetrical hem and crochet pattern are both so interesting, cool, and unique. It’s 100% cotton and very lightweight, but it’s completely see-through so you’d have to wear an undershirt or pretty bralette or bandeau. We can see this with a bralette, high-rise jeans, and heels for a simple but chic date night look.
#9) Cult Gaia Nazanin Crochet Top
How gorgeous is this Cult Gaia top?! It has beautiful floral accents throughout and a chic asymmetrical halter tie-neck. Depending on the flower placement, you might be able to get away with not wearing a bra if you’re able to secure it in place with the halter tie and feel comfortable with it. But if not, try nippies or a simple bandeau. Style it with wide-leg pants or jeans, a pretty white skirt, or simple shorts. It’s pricey, but it would be so perfect for your next warm-weather getaway!
How To Wear Crochet Tops
#1) Crochet Top & Denim Shorts
We shared a few tips on how we would style those crochet tops but wanted to give you a few more options as well. The simplest way to wear your crochet top for summer is with a pair of denim shorts. In this look, Erin’s wearing the open-knit top by Velvet with a pair of Pistola denim shorts. These shorts are a great length, have a high rise, and they’re a wonderful price point and quality. Erin completed the look with a pair of wedges, a tan belt, chunky jewelry, and sunnies. But you could easily dress this down with sneakers or flats. Or dress it up even more by throwing on a blazer.
If you don’t have a pair of denim shorts you love, check out all of Erin’s favorites in this post next!

#2) Crochet Top & White Denim
The wonderful thing about crochet tops is that they pair easily with pretty much anything…but especially white denim. There’s something so summery about a crochet top and a crisp pair of white jeans or shorts. In the look on the left, Erin’s wearing the same Pistola jeans in white styled with the Velvet crochet top and the same accessories. On the right, she’s wearing an older crochet top with a pair of cropped wide-leg Pistola jeans and some flat sandals. In both looks, the whites don’t perfectly match up and that’s totally okay, and actually encouraged! Varying tones and textures like this adds depth to your look. You can style any crochet top with white denim.
#3) Crochet Top & Blue Jeans
If you’re not a huge white denim fan, you can also wear your crochet tops with traditional blue denim! In this look, we took one of the tops from the list above and styled it with a pair of medium-wash blue jeans by AG. Erin has these jeans in a different wash and loves the fit! They’re cropped (27.5” inseam), have a slouchy slim fit, and a flattering high rise (9.5”). You can throw your favorite sneakers, grab your everyday tote, and complete the look with your go-to jewelry and sunnies and you’re ready to go! This look would be perfect for shopping, running errands, or a casual lunch.
#4) Crochet Top & Casual Pants
Since crochet crop tops are so big this summer we wanted to show you a simple, casual way to style them…with comfy pants! Erin has these Rails pants in a pretty beige and loves the super lightweight and breathable fabric, the comfortable elastic waistband, and how versatile they are. They have a higher rise, which pairs perfectly with the cool striped Ganni top. You can dress this up with heels or keep it casual with fun flats and a simple bag. You could easily wear this look on vacation but it also works for casual date night or dinner too.
#5) Crochet Top as Cardigan
Next, here’s how you can simply style your crochet cardigan! Leave the cardigan open and layer it over a classic wardrobe basic like a white tank, tee, cami, or blouse. Since the cardigan has some white in it, we went with a white tank. But if it had black in the pattern, you could also style it with a black undershirt. Next, we paired it with the same AG jeans but you could wear white jeans or pants, a simple skirt, denim shorts, or whatever you prefer. Complete the look with some cute flats, your everyday jewelry, and some sunglasses.
