An Easy, Casual, Summer Tablescape For A Perfect Backyard Soiree
Easy Summer Tablescape Ideas
When you think of summer, do you think of outdoor entertaining? I know I do! Spending time outdoors with friends and family, grilling, sipping cool drinks – all of these things scream SUMMER to me. It’s time to dust off (or in my case, power wash) the layer of dust and grime that has accumulated on your outdoor table and chairs, and get ready for a summertime soiree. To ease the stress of hosting, we have a super simple (but delicious!) appetizer recipe and some easy, casual summer tablescape ideas to get you started.
Keep The Food Simple, Too
For easy and casual summer food fare, try this super delicious Peach Bruschetta. It will look great on your table! And, if you want to make it a bit more substantial, add some goat cheese or burrata to the bread before adding the topping. Or, to keep it low-carb, add the topping to a bed of arugula and prosciutto. These tablescape ideas (and the recipe above) are perfect for the 4th of July, too! Can you believe it’s less than 2 weeks away!?
If you are looking for some additional ideas on what to serve at your dinner party, check out this post with everything you need for the perfect charcuterie board. What’s your go-to, easy-breezy secret to summertime entertaining? I’m always looking for a few new good ideas! Please share in the comments below.

Table Runner
Start with a beautiful table runner. These are pretty, practical, and easy to roll up and store.
This is where you can get as creative as you like, or stay in the neutral zone. Melamine dishware is ideal for outdoors because it won’t break and it’s super lightweight.
For an easy tablescape, I like using the same glasses for everyone regardless of the drink they plan to put inside. These highball glasses or mason jars are perfect for all libations and can double as small flower vases for a centerpiece. That’s keeping it easy, right?
Don’t forget your citronella candle to keep the uninvited flying guests away, a wine chiller, pretty napkins and flowers. You can grab flowers or any green clippings from your yard for the glassware “vases”. Experiment with varying heights and textures and you’ll have a perfect tablescape for your next summer gathering!
