Bumble BFF Party
I’m thrilled to share some pictures from the Bumble BFF, “Fashion, Friends and Fun,” party I hosted last week at the wonderful boutique, “Two Skirts.” in Telluride, Colorado.
I was so excited to meet the boutique co-owner, Kristen, whom I had heard so much about… and her incomparable team!
(Kristen is the gorgeous one in the picture above in the navy dress.)
Kristen buys such a great mix of modern and classic pieces. The boutique has always been one of my favorites in town.
What Is Bumble BFF?
You may be asking yourself, “What is Bumble BFF?” I, too, was a little perplexed at first.
But, it’s GENIUS… and REALLY simple to use.
Bumble is an app you download from the app store.
Once you download the Bumble app, you create a profile for yourself, and adjust the settings so it’s on “Bumble BFF” mode.
I have to admit, it was kinda tricky for me to decide what photos to use for my profile. You are looking for friends, not dates.
But, I promise that is the hardest part…;)
Here are some simple, step-by-step instructions to help you get started.
Basically… Bumble BFF is an efficient way to make friends, meet like-minded women… and/or network with women in your area!
Why Use Bumble?
When Bumble BFF first reached out, I was overwhelmed gearing up for my big move… and wondering how I would possibly pull off an event.
But, I quickly realized, this is such an ideal opportunity for me…because of our move to Telluride.
…It would enable me to make friends in my new hometown!
I am also the type of person who tends to stay holed up in my little work cave, and not come out as much as I should…
So I was pretty excited to have an amazing excuse to kick my social life into gear.
Party Planning
Bumble BFF let me pick the theme of the party, decor and food.
I decided to go with, “Fashion, Friends and Fun!” since it was at the boutique, Two Skirts.
There was plenty of shopping going on!
I invited a bunch of women through the Bumble BFF app, Two Skirts sent the invite to their client list, and I extended the invitation to the few friends in town.
Admittedly, I was a little nervous that people wouldn’t show up.
BUT, I was BLOWN AWAY by the response. So many women DID come, and I couldn’t have been more excited.
I met two women, Jennifer and Toni, who moved to Telluride recently from Texas. I met a sweet woman, named Shelley, who works at my son’s new school.
And, I met some moms who have kids the exact same age as my kiddos, who may very well be in the same class!
Decor
For the decor, I decided to order a big, full vase of gorgeous sunflowers (above) from Gardenstore, to match the Bumble logo color.
Sunflowers are also pretty special to me as they were the flowers I used for my wedding rehearsal dinner. And, they were my late mother-in-law’s favorites!
Bumble BFF sent me a bunch of balloons, but I didn’t have helium… so I blew them up, took a needle and fishing wire… and strung them together.
I knew my husband’s fishing hobby would come in handy sometime!
Food
I wanted to have some light bites for the ladies when they arrived so I ordered a beautiful meat and cheese platter from, Over the Moon.
As well as some Bumble themed sugar cookies from, Baked in Telluride.
I scooped up this acrylic cookie/cupcake stand on Amazon.
Goody Bags
Bumble BFF sent me some great goodies to give to the first ladies who arrived.
My favorites are the Bumble hair ties, and the adorable pineapple shot glasses.
It was fun to have a thank you gift for some of the sweet women who came to the event.
I also loved that, Two Skirts, had a $500 gift card giveaway!
You can find most of the goodies pictured above here at the Bumble bee.tique.
Friendship
This event was all about celebrating friendship….old and new.
I was SO lucky to have my friend, Deborah Scher (above), in town to help me set up for the party.
She also happened to serve as my (unpaid) agent, telling anyone who would listen… about me and my business.
I’m so lucky to have inspiring and supportive women like Deborah in my life!
I hope you all will check out the Bumble BFF app. It’s a modern way to make friends… and I for one… am ALL FOR IT!
