Mixing different style types is right up my alley! I love taking a look and making it my own by mixing the style types that I identify with most. I describe my style as modern, sophisticated, and feminine with a touch of edge. You’re thinking…how can your style be ALL of those things!? Well…the who idea is to mix those types in a stylish way. Mixing Feminine & Masculine
In this look, I’m mixing edgy and feminine in a sophisticated, stylish way. This blouse by Alice + Olivia is edgy AND feminine all in one, making it easier to mix the styles. The puff sleeves are feminine, and the print is edgy.
The 7 For All Mankind jeans I’m wearing are super high waisted and have minimal distressing, which help contrast the femininity of the top.
I paired the outfit with edgy, black Alexander Wang booties that have a cool cutout on the heel. The chunky heel makes these really comfy and easy to walk in. I wear these boots all the time!

How To Mix Style Types
- Stick to two style types – Above, I mixed feminine and edgy. If I threw in another style type (like preppy), it would be WAY too much going on. Pick two style types and try to mix those!
- Accessorize Strategically – This is key when styling any outfit. But if you’re trying to mix style types, keep the jewelry simple. Or make sure it truly complements the rest of the outfit rather than making a bold statement.
- Start with Basics – If you’re unsure, start with basics. Throw on a basic top and jeans, then add to it. Try some combat boots and a faux fur jacket (mixing edgy and luxe) or a cute cardigan and knee-high boots (mixing preppy and sexy). The possibilities are endless!
