New Workwear Outfits
If you’ve been working in an office for years, it’s possible you’ve been wearing the exact same pants, blouses, and blazers for…longer than you care to admit. Don’t worry, we’re all guilty of this. Even if you don’t work in an office, you’ve likely been wearing the same activewear, loungewear, blouses, jeans, etc. for years. We all have our old faithfuls…those pieces that never fail us and always make us look and feel amazing. But just like our homes and our beauty routines, sometimes our wardrobes (especially our work wardrobes) need a little newness and excitement! If you’re resonating with anything we’re saying…this is your sign to add a little something new to your wardrobe to keep it feeling fresh and modern. We’re sharing 8 workwear outfits below that will make you want to spruce up your work wardrobe!
#1) Houndstooth Blazer & Black Pants
The first workwear look is this gorgeous houndstooth blazer with classic black pants. This houndstooth Veronica Beard blazer is an on-trend but still accessible and wearable print that you’ll wear for years. The houndstooth print is more versatile than you think and SO easy to style with other pieces you already have in your work wardrobe. This is a dickey blazer too so you can zip in/out different dickeys to completely change the look and feel when you wear it. Underneath the blazer, Erin’s wearing a chic sheer sleeve top from Anthropologie that’s a wonderful basic to have in your closet. We love it for the office because it can easily transition to dinner or drinks after work too!
If you’re looking for a new pair of classic black pants, this pair by Veronica Beard is such a great, high-quality option! They are the brand’s iconic scuba fabric that’s winkle-resistant, smoothing, and SO comfortable. They have a center seam down the front that makes them a basic-with-a-twist and also helps elongate the legs. Erin is 5’4” for reference. Complete the look with your favorite pumps or slingbacks, your everyday jewelry, and your go-to work tote.
#2) Lace Blouse & Red Pants
This second look is perfect if you like to incorporate the latest trends into your work wardrobe. Erin’s wearing a pair of red trousers by A.L.C. that are so fun. Red is a super hot, on-trend color right now that we don’t see going anywhere anytime soon. These pants have a straight-leg silhouette and super flattering fit. You can style these pants with so many of the work blouses and sweaters you probably already have in your closet. But Erin chose to style them with a white Wayf lace blouse to add some extra femininity to the look. If you’re a longtime follower or email subscriber this top probably looks familiar…it’s a Team Busbee favorite!
#3) Camel Blazer & Trousers
Next up is a modern take on a classic matching suit set… If you’re tired of your black blazer and pants, try a camel or tan blazer and pants instead! Erin’s wearing a tan wool blazer from Banana Republic that is soft and warm but breathable. The neutral color is so versatile that even if you only get the blazer, it will seamlessly work with your other workwear. Underneath the blazer, Erin’s wearing a sleek silk blouse in the same color family. This blouse is a great wardrobe basic whether you work in an office or not…and it comes in navy and black. To keep the monochromatic look going, Erin’s wearing a pair of super wide-leg trousers. This voluminous, oversized pantleg style has been on-trend for a while and it’s definitely sticking around! These pants are super comfortable, have a flattering fit, and are perfect for changing up your work wardrobe. They also come in petite and tall inseams.
#4) Camel Blazer & Jeans
If you have a more casual office dress code, style the same blazer and blouse with a pair of on-trend jeans instead. This would be such a cool look for casual Friday in the office! These baggy straight-leg jeans have an oversized slouchy fit and are a great basic. Erin is wearing the regular length with heels but they also come in petite and would look so chic with sneakers.
#5) Camel Blazer & Brown Tapered Trousers
In this look, Erin’s wearing the wool blazer again…see how versatile it is?! But this time she styled it with an ivory cashmere sweater. This sweater is a wonderful basic and perfect for layering. It has a loose, body-skimming fit, mock neck, and fun padded shoulders. Erin styled the sweater and blazer with a pair of utility pants in a gorgeous dark brown color. They are a classic pair of pants with a few cool upgrades like the flattering belted waist and utilitarian-inspired seams and stitching. They run true to size and Erin’s wearing the regular length, but they also come in petite. If this brown color doesn’t work with the other pieces in our work wardrobe, they also come in green, black, tan, and cream.
#6) Corduroy Pants & White Blouse
Next up is a fun pair of corduroy pants that have a cool 70s vibe. Erin’s wearing the super dark brown color called Costa Coffee Brown but they also come in navy and beige. They’re a great option if you can’t wear jeans to the office but also don’t want to wear traditional, tailored pants. The flared-leg silhouette is very flattering. Erin’s wearing the petite length but they also come in regular and tall. She styled them with a fun white basic-with-a-twist. This blouse has a high tie-neck, ruffle details, and exaggerated cuffs…which all really elevate it and give it a little something extra.

#7) Pinstripe Blazer & Denim Trousers
This pinstripe blazer by Steve Madden has a more casual, oversized fit and looks great with everything from jeans to trousers to skirts and dresses. It’s also super affordable! Erin styled it with a pair of denim trousers, which would be such a fun addition to your work-drobe. The fit is amazing and they’re SO flattering. Erin also has the matching blazer, so we shared that look above (on the right). Erin completed the look with a cool white button-down that has a dramatic, oversized collar. As Erin always says…she likes drama in her clothes, not her life! On her feet, she’s wearing her favorite go-to sock booties she’s owned for years. But you could wear your favorite pumps or booties.

#8) Office-Appropriate Little Black Dress
It wouldn’t be a workwear roundup without the perfect, office-appropriate little black dress! This black Steve Madden dress is affordable, flattering, and comfortable. The length is perfect for the office and throwing a blazer over it to cover your shoulders is easy and stylish. Erin belted it to add some waist definition and threw on the same sock booties. But you can wear it without the belt and with your favorite pumps, heels, or booties too!
